Master McCall gifted me a diary over the holidays that I have yet to make use of but admire all the same. It's a sturdy, well-made thing with many, many crisp white pages bound in black leather and silver-colored trim. There is a lock for which I am not foolish enough to believe could not be broken by a set of prying eyes and determined hands, but I like to think I am not so cagey as to merit such interest from others. It is the most thoughtful thing anyone has done for me in – well, for a very long time. My master is most kind.

I'm fairly confident my life thus far could fill the first hundred pages, and perhaps many more if I felt inclined to include the trivialities of my training, which I thankfully do not. Yet...

I turn twenty-three over the weekend. Perhaps I shall start there and work my way backward?

I'm currently in possession of a life-size (and startlingly realistic) flamingo piñata. Which seems a terrible waste considering the amount of effort that must have gone into its manufacture. Perhaps we can use it as a coat rack.

Ms. Forbes, I didn't have a chance to thank you for your efforts yesterday evening. Despite the lack of warning and consent we did have a lovely time.

Alright, folks. It's a new year, and I figure I should learn a new shift, or two. I'm open to suggestions! Thus far, I can shift into a grey wolf, a Havana Brown cat, an Egyptian Mau cat, a raven, a brown mouse, a sugar glider, and chocolate lab.

Pretty sure this house will never be completely quiet again.

After a week of being on this little island, all of my things are finally unpacked and all of the furniture has arrived and been put in its place. Apparently the movers have their own special time and 48 hours became nearly four days.

The shop as well has been cleaned and is now open for business. I'm sure I'll see a good portion of the populace there at Leather and Lace at one point.

Vlad darling, you must come over and catch up on a day when you aren't busy. You can even bring your boy along. I'd love to meet him.

Leaving aside the surreality of the situation, my first week on the island seems determined to pass without incident. I'll decide whether or not to be glad of that at a later date, I suspect

That being said, it is year's end tonight and I wonder if there isn't some manner of mischief to be found. All this quiet is doing my head in.

Making bored housewives clutch their metaphoric pearls is far more fun than it has any right to be. That being said Virginia proves to be every bit as quaint as I've been warned. Though there is something to be said for small towns.

Stefan is happy, at least. The happiest I've seen him so far.

I feel like I'm living in a boarding house, with all the slaves lounging around.

Is this it, Eric, or should I start setting up cots in the hallway?

Sometimes you don't realize how much you missed a place until you've been gone and make your way back.

And I'm pretty sure the dogs are already attached to Vlad.

This past week has been extremely weird, to say the least. I mean, it probably shouldn't feel that way. People are bought and paid for all the time, whatever you think about the subject, but it's definitely surreal when it happens to you. You realize a lot of things, and then you feel guilty that you never realized them before. And they made me wear my old cheerleading outfit, which was at least 28 flavors of skeezy.

All in all, I'm pretty lucky. I mean, my master owns a bar named Fangtasia, which is kind of a weird pun, that being the point I think? on the interesting side. I'm still figuring a lot out, but I'm not scared or worried, really. Is that strange? Whatever it is, it's something that isn't all the suck right now. I mean, look at me. I'm already punning too.

My sister and I used to go to school around here, actually. My name's Alice Sharrow. Is there anyone around from high school or something still? I know it's been two years, but I'd love to even just type at somebody familiar, even if I'm not sure about being able to hang out or anything. Or, you know, kind of internet-meet new people.

This time of year always feels so strange to me. Fae aren't usually big Christmas celebrators, but I've lived here for so long I'm used to it all now. I also feel like with a human in the house, maybe this year will be different. Who knows?

The house smells of gingerbread and pine-needles and, it seems, that before she decided to take her leave my daughter decided to do a little last-minute decorating.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this much tinsel gathered together under a single roof.

Zână mică, if business and that son of mine haven't got you too busy, I'd like a word sometime soon about a special order.

Hello, this is my first time writing something so public. My previous master didn't allow us to. Master, though, is... nice. I really like him. And I'm not just saying so because I know he will see this.

I do not know what to write, but I wanted to try this. So I will talk about my day. Isn't that what you do?

Today was my first time shopping for the house. I've never been so nervous. I do not yet know all the things my Master likes. I seem to have done well for my first trip. I will need to explore the produce options on the island, though. Once it is the right season again, I want to be able to ensure I get what is fresh and in season.

This was my day. I shoppes and cooked. I made a tomato bisque for Master's lunches this week and will make him a sandwich fresh daily. Tonight was Italian.

The lights are pretty, and I love the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Lost Christmas Eve is my favorite Christmas album.

Snow makes me tired, though. So tired. Sleepy. I want to cuddle under blankets and listen to music while watching out a window.

It's been quite the interesting adjustment around here lately. Jack took off and left without a word and I'm heartbroken, Katherine is gone good riddance, but I have a delightful new slave of whom I am enjoying greatly. Thinks work out in mysterious ways, I guess.

It's Christmas week. It's been a great year. I haven't even minded the nonstop Christmas music playing, or all the decorations. Enzo and I have lights up. That was a little more of a project, but it was fun.
