RP: The Literacy Flourishes Charity Gala

What: The Literacy Flourishes charity gala and celebrity date auction.

LAYOUT OF THE GALA
Dining/seating There are 100 tables configured in a U-shape around a large dancefloor/stage.
Stage/dance floor The dance floor shrinks during presentations and the celebrity auction and expands during dinner and dancing.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
6:00 Welcome Pansy Nott welcomes all attendees, goes over the schedule for the evening, and explains the mission of the charity.
6:30 Dinner A four course meal appears intermittently over the half hour.
7:00 Orchestra/Dancing As the last course--dessert--is served, the orchestra picks up and the dance floor expands for dancing.
7:30 Celebrity Auction The music dims to a soft accent as Pansy Nott and Demo Finnigan-Thomas take the stage to begin the celebrity date auction.
8:30 Concert/Dancing Several musical guests begin performing, kicked off with a duet featuring Wes Carlisle and Violet Nott, and the dance floor expands.
10:00 Function Ends Pansy Nott takes the stage to announce the end of the silent auction. Results will be tallied and winners will receive their goods by 13 July. She announces the end of the gala, though the concert continues until midnight.

Beau Rosier "To kick off our celebrity date auction is our favorite child actor all grown up! Beau Rosier first caught our eye as a cheeky lad on WeeVee's Merlin-under-Hangtree, but he's certainly proved himself a man of many talents, coming in second last year in the reality competition Let's Dance. I know I can't wait to see what role he takes on next! And so, I'd love to cast the opening bid at thirty galleons..."
Blaise Zabini "Our next celebrity hardly needs an introduction, but I do so love talking about him. Blaise Zabini, owner and editor of the Daily Prophet and perpetual bachelor, has set many a heart a-flutter, though none have managed to usurp the love he has for the paper. Win the bid for a date with him, and perhaps you'll have that special something he can't resist..."
Gareth Wagtail "Although our next celebrity is best known for a drunken fly over a muggle village last winter, Gareth Wagtail is a fantastic retired Chaser and current trainer for the Montrose Magpies. Outbid everyone else for a date with him, and I'd bet you'll be in for a wild ride..."
Gavin Montgomery "The Montrose Magpies have taken the league by storm this season with the help of our next celebrity. Gavin Montgomery, one of the best Beaters we've seen on the pitch since Cooper Reynolds' days on a broom, has quite the reputation of disappointing anyone who wants to snare his attention for more than a night, but just imagine all that intensity focused on only you for that single night! Who will start the bidding..."
Ginny Weasley "Everyone knows our favorite red-headed spitfire war hero! Ginny Weasley is Harpies Chaser turned Daily Prophet sports writer and editor, but don't be fooled. A desk job has done nothing to tame the spunk out of her, and a little birdie tells me she's hoping you lovely ladies will join in the bidding for a date with her..."
Harry Potter "I think you'll all agree that heartbroken is not a good look for our most famous of celebrities. Harry Potter, Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, is single and ready to mingle again--at least for a good cause. So ladies, here he is, get him with the winning bid..."
Rachel Turpin-Davies "Our next celebrity is up and coming Holyhead Harpies Chaser, Rachel Turpin-Davis. Quick as a snitch with an instinct for banter, the only thing this flying ace chases is the Quaffle, so you better keep up, cause she won't be chasing you..."
Thad Nott "We do love our Magpies, don't we? Next up is Montrose Magpies Seeker, and my second son, Thad Nott. I know, I know, him being my son doesn't make him famous, but his impressive flying and seeking certainly does! Don't let his bachelor reputation fool you, his dad and I have raised him to appreciate and value relationships, and don't those usually start with a first date? Who will start the bidding..."
Victoire Weasley "If you find it almost impossible to look away from our next stunning celebrity, that's because Victoire Weasley is part veela via the Delacour family and a world-renowned fashion model. Wes Carlisle "Our final celebrity of the night has been charming us through the radio and on the stage for a decade. Wes Carlisle relishes sensuality and luxury, and is sure to show the woman--or man--who wins a date with him the best of times. It wasn't as though Scarlett had needed Mrs. Nott to tell her about the celebrities--most of them, she felt she knew rather well just from keeping up with the gossip rags. She quite enjoyed gossip, and she liked to imagine most of it was either true or at least had an element of truth to it.

"Oh, I have been, though it's infinitely better now," she quipped, slipping closer to him again to resume dancing.

"That's good to hear." For his part, Beau enjoyed dancing and an enthusiastic partner was always welcome. "It's so nice seeing everyone come together to be so giving." There might have been a little innuendo; events like these always seemed to collect as much gossip as they did galleons.

"It's the first time I've ever been auctioned off, though. Have you put in any bids?"

Although she'd never had formal training in it--had she ever given most things enough attention to gain formal training?--she wasn't a bad dancer at all. There was an innate sense of rhythm in her that did her well on the dancefloor and in the bedroom. "Isn't it just," she purred in agreement, bolstered by that hint of innuendo.

"Oh, I might have put in a bid or two on you, but my bank account simply couldn't keep up with your popularity," she pointed out. She hadn't bid, but that wasn't the point. She would have bid if she'd had the galleons for it. "And really, the silent auction items pale in comparison." Was she laying it on too thick? Hmm, she was beginning to think she might be, but could anyone blame her for wanting to bed a celebrity? Or maybe she was just still annoyed that Kenzie had managed it before her.

Well, Miss Scarlett was a flirty one, wasn't she? This was more fun than Beau had anticipated and certainly more entertaining than dancing with women older than his mother that he had clocked checking him out earlier.

"Between the two of us," Beau confided conspiratorially ducking his head a little, "they've severely overpaid."

It was just a bit too natural for her to sidle a bit closer, one hand walking up his chest to his shoulder, long carefully polished nails teasing the soft, taut skin where his neck peeked above his collar. "Mmm, maybe you should let me be the judge of that," she murmured, her voice taking on a somewhat sultry quality.

She wouldn't go so far as initiating a kiss--at least not this early in the night--but she could bat her pretty blues at him and give him all the signals that she'd be more than happy to make his night one to remember.

"You think so?" Those blue eyes and teasing smile were certainly tempting and there was a je ne sais quoi about her. Just because women weren't always his first choice didn't mean he didn't enjoy their company. "Yeah, I bet you're good at sharing your opinions." His hand on her waist gave a gentle squeeze of encouragement.

"At least let me get you a drink or something before you do any judging?" he suggested.

"Indeed, I do," she hummed right back at him, reveling for a moment in how promising this interaction had been thus far. Maybe she'd get a celebrity under her tonight after all. Or on top of her. Or behind her. She really wasn't picky as long as he was enthusiastic.

"Oh darling, I'm always judging, but getting me a drink will certainly count in your favor," she said, not bothering to tone down the flirting.

"Is that right," Beau remarked, a chord change providing another opportunity for a twirl and a chance to pull her close when she came to face him again.

"Just so you know," he said, keeping his voice low for just Scarlett to hear, "if someone else does sway your favour my feelings won't be hurt. No commitments here." Beau had never been a fan of commitment, the idea of such a thing too stressful for many reasons; while he had a feeling that she wasn't going to be bothered by that he wanted to put that out there now. "I'm thinking I might head to the bar after this song."

"Mmhmm," she hummed as he spun her around, pressing close to him as he pulled her back in, looking up at him in anticipation of what he would say next.

And damn if his words didn't warm her to the tips of her toes, her lips curving in a rather satisfied smirk. "Ooh, never fear. My favorite sort of commitments are the non-existent ones," she reassured him. She wasn't against having a regular partner as long as he didn't expect monogamy from her. And that was hardly an issue, because she never pretended like she was looking for an actual relationship.

"I think I'll join you at the bar," she said, inviting herself along in a way that would be presumptuous if he hadn't just signaled he were interested.

They were on the same page, wonderful. Beau met her smirk with one of his own. "Perfect." That in itself was an attractive quality. Since he'd come of age Beau had met plenty of women who would have tried to tie him down - and not in a way that he would enjoy.

"Good. Maybe I'll order a bottle of bubbly. Start things off with a pop." He raised his eyebrows a little. "Plus, it's portable."

A delighted chuckle slipped from Scarlett's lips. "Even better!" Bubbly wasn't her favorite, but she didn't dislike it, and the booze was hardly the focus tonight anyway.

The song came to an end, and she pressed close to him again, her hand slipped up around the back of his neck, playing with the hairs there briefly, one eyebrow quirking up, smirk firmly in place. "Shall we?" she suggested, taking a step back toward the bar without letting go of him.

Beau almost preened under the attention, enjoying the light touch. Since he wasn't filming anything at the moment, he'd let his hair grow out a little just so that he'd have some control over his own look for a while.

"Let's." His hand rested on the small of her back as he guided her off the dance floor - or was Scarlett doing the guiding? That seemed more likely. "That dress looks stunning, by the way," he told her, well aware there were cameras around that might catch him if his hand dared to slip lower. Of course, he had no qualms about being spotted at a function with an attractive blonde. "I'd finish that line, but you've probably heard it a million times." Yeah, it might look good on a bedroom floor, but it didn't even have to come off if that was how the night played out.

Walking next to him to leave the dance floor, Scarlett turned her head to look at him with blue eyes that were a little too wide. "Wait, what? I have no idea what you mean!" she said, doing her best to play it off, but by the time the last word was uttered, her lips were already curving up in a smile that simply could not be contained. He was way more fun than she'd imagined he would be from what she'd seen in the tabloids, and damn if that wasn't an aphrodisiac all on its own.

"But really, if you think the dress is gorgeous, just wait until you see what's under it," she quipped as they started weaving their way through the tables to get to the bar.

Beau laughed, his hand sliding over a little to the curve of her slim waist. "The innocent look doesn't suit you," he teased, fingers applying a little pressure.

"Yeah?" he asked absently, giving a friendly nod of recognition to a former colleague before turning his attention fully back to Scarlett. "Based on the dress, I'm going to guess lacy and black. But I could be wrong..." He'd be quite pleased to be proved wrong too. Finding out would be half the fun.

Laughing in delight, Scarlett's eyes shifted full of mischief, her body curving toward him at the pressure of his fingers at her waist.

Would he be pleasantly surprised when he discovered that he was wrong and that she wasn't wearing anything under the dress? "I guess you'll just have to take it off to find out." She didn't bother to spare a glance at anyone around them, her focus solely on him. "So what do you say? Will we be taking the bubbly to go?" she asked as they reached the bar.

"I suppose I will." Beau could feel a few people looking in their direction, but that was nothing new for him. Then, again, they could equally be eyeing up the attractive blonde witch that he had his arm around.

He inclined his head in agreement, a twinkle of excitement lighting up his features. "Yes. Just two things - anyone you need to say goodnight to? And, at the risk of sounding cliché, your place or mine?"

Typically, the only reason Scarlett ever paid anyone else any attention once she had her sights on someone was if things didn't seem to be going in her favor. As such, in that moment, she only had eyes for Beau.

"I'll send my people a message, but they're used to me taking my time getting home," she answered with a small smirk. Of course, her first instinct on his second question was to go with his, seeing as how she hadn't yet moved out of her parents' house, but before she answered, the thought popped in her head that she knew Kenzie was going to stay for the full concert, and she also knew that she was cleared to apparate through her friend's wards, and how fun would that be?

But then she realized that doing so would mean missing out on seeing what Beau's place looked like, and she would have to be crazy not to accept an invitation to a celebrity's home! "Yours," she answered, having every bit of faith in herself that whatever would happen would be entirely in her favor.

"Okay." Beau slowly stroked his thumb over the curve of her hip. He managed to draw his thoughts away from the idea of kissing her long enough to order a bottle of something to keep the party going a little longer. Sure, he'd been invited to an afterparty or two, but Scarlett was far more appealing right now.

When they arrived outside his house minutes later, Beau did a quick mental inventory - had he left anything out that he shouldn't have? Nothing out of the ordinary, he thought.

The house was a converted barn, a combination of his love of privacy and the countryside. Beau had bought the place a couple of years ago and while he might not have done the decorating himself his touches were all over it with dark colours and modern furniture juxtaposed against the old bones of the building.

He tapped his wand against the door handle, ushering Scarlett inside. "Now, where were we?"

Scarlett waited rather more patiently than she normally might have while he ordered the bottle of bubbly. And when the arrived at his house, she blinked up at it in surprise. It was... not even close to where she'd expect a WeeVee star to live. But it was clearly quite private, and she couldn't be disappointed in that. Although she could be a bit of an exhibitionist at times, there were also times she preferred to be as loud as she wanted without risk of interruption.

She glanced around briefly when he led her inside, eyebrows arched at the contrast the décor made with the architecture. It would seem there would be a lot to learn about Beau were she so inclined.

As it was, she was more interested to learn his body than anything of real significance about him, and she turned to him with that small smirk in place. "Hmm, I believe you were going to kiss me and then figure out what I've got on under this dress. Or you could do it the other way around," she suggested with a negligent shrug.

Beau made a small noise of agreement, placing the champagne on the small table by the door next to a piece of art he’d made when he was going through a ceramics phase. His wand quickly joined it so that he had both hands free for an entirely different piece of art.

“That’s as good a place to start as any,” he joked quietly, attention focused on her smirking lips. Beau chose the kiss first, pulling her even closer than they had been on the dance floor. His fingers skimmed over the black and silver lace of her dress, teasing touches that still let him feel the warmth of her skin through the sheer fabric.

Her hands lifted, arms resting on his shoulders, fingers brushing against the hair at the nape of his neck, much like she had while they'd been dancing. Scarlett leaned up, her lips meeting his, shivering at the feel of his fingers brushing over her dress

Sliding her hands around and down, her fingers started flicking the buttons up running down the front of his shirt, never one known for patience.

Well, she was certainly setting the pace. Beau felt the first couple of buttons open, emboldening to find the dress fastening at the nape of her neck. It was small and fiddly, but slid out after a moment. Slipping his hand slowly beneath the fabric, Beau smiled into the kiss when he discovered her bra, or lack thereof.

Releasing her lips, he looked down, watching her fingers unbutton his shirt.

Things were going precisely as she'd hoped. As his hand slipped beneath the fabric of her dress, her teeth nipped his lower lip lightly. And when he pulled back enough to look down, her fingers finished the last couple buttons of his shirt and then lifted to the straps of her dress, pulling them down her shoulders and letting it pool around her feet. "What do you think? Disappointed there's no skimpy, lacy black lingerie?"

Scarlett stood before him, completely confident in her nudity and heels, and her hands pressed against his chest, rubbing under his shirt and up to his shoulders, wanting him as clothed as she was at the moment.

Beau instinctively licked his lower lip, taking in the glowing curves exposed to him. "Not in the slightest." He wanted to touch and tease, enjoying the soft but insistent stroke of her hands across his chest. However, while nudity and heels looked fantastic on her, shoes and nothing else were not particularly attractive on him so he quickly shed his shoes and socks.

Scarlett helped him shrug off his shirt, showing her just how hard he worked in the gym. His hands slid over her hips to the curve of her behind, pulling her tight up against him. He kissed her again, first on the lips, then her jawline, making his way down her neck to her collarbone. Beau's lips pressed against the place where a bra strap might normally lie. "Not disappointed at all."

As he removed his socks and shoes, Scarlet cocked a hip, hand resting on the soft curve of it as she watched unabashedly. And when he was upright before her again, she helped him out of his shirt, her hands enjoying the chiseled plane of his abdomen. Though when he pulled her in, her arms slid up and over his shoulders again, humming at the feel of her pebbled nipples pressing against his flesh.

The kisses were good, but she was definitely going to want more, and her head tilted to give him better access to her neck. "Good." Letting her hands travel back down his chest, her fingers worked his belt and the front of his trousers open, brushing over the bulge of his arousal teasingly.
