When: 1/3/2028
Where: Rosa Lee's Tea Shop
Warnings: N/A
Completion Status: Ongoing

Rachel hated this part of the year. It was too early to head to Holyhead and the wasn't enough time to continue her work at V-Bar. She always felt bad even if Lisa pushed her out of the door over weekend explaining that her list of errands wasn't getting any shorter.

After a quick run Rachel had managed to stop at Quality Quidditch Supplies and McLaggen Magical sports to replenishing her broom kit and giving her broom a good once over. Laden with bags she checked her phone and realized she hadn't eaten a thing all day and pushed the door of the Tea Shop open. "Sorry," she repeated as she made her way to a secluded corner and set her bags down before queueing for one of her favorite drinks.

"Warmer weather? And just when I prepping to get back up in the chilly air." She stuck her tongue out at him. Really the cold never bothered her when she played. Her robes kept her plenty warm and her fingers hit numb long before the cold.

"It'll be good to get out and ride again." Him. She meant him. She loved the ride they had taken down the coast but she didn't want to assume that meant an open invitation and with Quidditch coming up she doubted she'd have the time.

"Nothing since our little excursion." She smirked. "It'll will most likely be work and more work until the season starts." She wanted to ask why, he asked such a pointed question, but let it lie.

A soft laugh left Scor at her teasing, giving his shoulders a useless shrug. He couldn't stand the cold, never had been able. He also couldn't bring himself to leave London. He wanted to be close to his family and friends, especially Lyra and Albie. So this was how he dealt, he went on long trips when the weather was good.

"It will be, I can't tell you the last time I was on a broom though. Do you train often?" he asked curiously, curious if he might be able to get to pop on to the pitch with her sometime. It would be interesting, a new experience for sure.

Both brows raised with interest when she said she'd just be working. "Well, we'll change that. We should go out again. I've got no idea what we'll do, but you should pick. We can do anything you like?" he offered.

"I don't know. How often do you find yourself in Stevenage?" She giggled. It seemed like a silly arrangement. She'd spend the winter tending bar and saving up money and then right before season hit she would jet off to Roger's flying school and talk strategy and play mock matches with the children.

"Honestly, with how close we were last year, I have no down that they'll have us training every day. And then there's the international team to make this year!" She could feel herself getting revved up already and the first matches didn't start for another month.

She almost burnt her lip on tea when she heard his statement. Again? Did going out that day count as a date? She replayed the day in her head as she tried to discern for herself.

She hadn't really dated anyone. Her fling with Thad petered out just as fast as it started and they had both moved one. Did that even count? I'm over thinking this. Focus.

She looked back at Scorpius waiting there in silence. He was attractive and she never said she was swearing off dating after Thad. Just that she would be more selective. "Anything I like, huh?"

There was so much life and exuberance in her. He rather enjoyed seeing her lit up as she talked about Quidditch. How close had her team come? He'd have to ask one of his mates that kept up with Quidditch. He didn't keep up with sports like he should, now though it would seem he was finding himself a reason to. The gorgeous brunette seated across from him.

"I feel like I might be walking into something, but yes, anything you'd like," he reassured her with that dopey crooked smile, shrugging. He didn't trust himself to suggest a date activity, the last date he'd planned had been taking Beau ice skating. That really hadn't been such a fantastic idea. He wondered just what she might like to do.

"It won't be anything terrible." Rachel let out a mischievous giggle. "Let's just start with drinks. I know this cozy littlecocktail bar right off Charring Cross. Good drinks small menu." She finished off her tea. "What do you think?"

"I think that sounds perfect," he said with a smile. He couldn't wait, there was this excitement he hadn't felt in months. The prospect of the first date. Gods, he was glad he'd asked her out.
