Hey guys,
So, as Elizabeth said, I'm going to try and make a Cheshire-esque game and obviously, I want all of you there! It's still in the early stages of being set up (I actually started a new job today... good timing, Alison) but if you want to see me modding in action, I've been modding ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) cr_mod for about three years now. I'm going to work on all the relevant posts, make a new, streamlined application process etc. etc. In the meantime, let me know if you want to join and what journal you'll be using and I'll factor that in. If you want to app a new character, use the Cheshire app for now and email it to herringprincess@gmail.com. The communities are at ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) cuckoosnest (threads and logs), nesticeboard (notices, like ccrpg), cuckoosegg (backstory and history), and outofthenest (ooc) if you want to join. Yes, the name is partly based on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, but also in reference to 'cuckoo' meaning 'crazy.' The hospital won't be as mean and dated as the one in the book/film, nor the themes so political! I'm thinking that we can keep a bit of continuity from this game, so that it is up to you if your characters are freshly admitted to the hospital or if they are transferred from Cheshire. We could say that Cheshire partially burnt down and a bunch of the patients (and doctors) have had to relocate because of the rebuilding - something like that? Cuckoo's Nest is a new hospital based not too far away. Oh, and any volunteers for characters to try and burn down the hospital? ;-)
I hope you guys stick with me as I set this all up, as I've loved playing with you and am hoping to be able to do it again. If not, best of luck in your future creative endeavours!

Hello one and all...
I just wanted to make a brief post here...Bri, Jon and I have all been dealt a pretty intense RL hand for awhile now. We've all been with this game for ages and we all love it very much...but it's time (with us, at least) is through. So, when Alison approached us about creating her own game based on the concept, we were more than happy to give her an enthusiastic 'yes'.
I don't want to wax too emotional...but Cheshire, I love you and loved you for a very long time. I hope that people will continue to have fun and be creative with the concept, it's a beautiful one.

Better late than never on this introduction thing, right? Anyway, hello! My name is veetee. I tried joining Cheshire previously, but ending up having a really rough end to my semester - in any case, I'm back for another shot with Ariadne. She's from the movie Inception, which, if you haven't seen yet, you should. Ariadne used to be an incredibly friendly and open person, but after having a little run-in with the dream world, she can't tell what reality is anymore; she's a bit paranoid and often thinks that people around her are figments of other people's subconscious that are out to get her. She'll be friendly enough after awhile, but for the moment, she's pretty wary of her surroundings.

Hey everyone!
Brianna here saying good bye to a character who has been here since the beginning to time - Martin Hastings (marching_hare) and saying hello to a new character! Sadly, Martin's voice died a long time ago in my head and I was starting to feel guilty about sitting on his character attempting to revive him for so long.... one day he may return. Who knows?
Anywho, this is a shiny new character. I would like to introduce Emma Frost from Marvel comics. She's a little mixture of all sides of Emma. The Hellfire evil side, the Headmistress of Xavier Institute side and the reformed X-Man side. She is a doctor and specializes in "depth psychology", mainly meaning she works on extracting repressed experiences to help deal with a person's current mental state. She does a lot of hypnotherapy and uses dream journals as a way to understand a person's mind. She uses a lot of psychodynamic psychotherapy as a way to help patients deal with trauma and past experiences. Let's see, she's a bit new to this doctor thing, but hey! She's a Frost and embraces new experiences. Before she became a doctor was one of the youngest multi-billionaire company owners known to the world. Former Founder and Chairperson to Frost International, she was also born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She is a bit obnoxious, and self centered... and snobby and outspoken and blunt and can be mean - but her "heart" is usually in the right place (though, she will insist that she doesn't have a heart). Let's see... she needs patients, because every good doctor needs patients.

Hi there! I'm Mary and I bring you a cult-inhabitant, Veronica Sawyer (though I suppose she should really have been apped as J.D.). She is currently being controlled by another character (or as the doctors would call him, another Alter). J.D. is a bit of a scary dude, and he is very apathedic about society as a whole. Veronica will come in sometime in the future, for now however, her will is too weak! J.D. might make an interesting big-brother figure to somebody. Just a thought~. While he won't be entirely open about/to the relationship
, it could be a fun one to develop, especially when he starts to lose control (which he will, eventually).
Anybody here seen the movie she comes from? Heathers? I thought it was an awesome literary piece. If I can get my hands on the dvd, I'm going to watch the alternate ending some day!
Anywho, I'm actually a very nice person, despite the kind of characters I play. Or so I'm told. XD If you'd like to plot or anything, let me know!

Mars here with character number four! Hands up, who's seen Inception by now? Ahem.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so, quick and dirty version is that this here is Arthur. He's ex-special ops and thinks everything is a dream. Or maybe he's awake, but he can't tell because he lost the loaded die that told him what was what. Yes. Yes I know. Strange boy.
He's addicted to incredibly strong and, let's face it, incredibly illegal sedatives. He still needs to be sedated, but the hospital stuff just don't cut it, probs. His reactions when not sedated are severe and result in hypersensitivity and extreme paranoia. Also if you're tipping back your chair, he will probably knock it over. He's just trying to wake you up. You should thank him.
AND HERE'S A RANDOM TV SPOT he's the cool dude defying gravity.
So that was ADD, sorry. He is still lacking a doctor but that ought to be remedied soon! But, plotplotplot? Plooooot?!?

Hey! I'm Jade, and I bring with me Jacob from one of my favorite tv shows, Lost. He believes he's thousands of years old, immortal, and the protector of a magical island... among other things (like his brother becoming a smoke monster *cough*). He rarely shows emotion and is usually eerily calm and more than a little mysterious, but he's not unfriendly and enjoys conversation and finding out what other people think. New character!
This is Freddie Trumper from the musical Chess, this version played by the wonderfully epic Adam Pascal. Freddie is...many things. But I will just leave it at Former World Chess Champion a few times over, he's a narcissistic rude arrogant jerk who thinks he's better than everyone ever. He's been through a kind of sucky time (see history) and has been admitted to Cheshire for what the papers have been told is exhaustion.
He is available for plot and suchlike along with Ruby!

*waves* Still here. I'll be interested to see who else is still around and I'll be doing a revamp of my SL list etc. this next week, so hit me up if you want to be on one :-) I have six weeks off work now (I work in a school and they broke up today) so I'll be more active right about now, just as everyone's leaving the game, LOL.
I just wanted to say a couple of things. First, I don't agree with all of Elizabeth's decisions. I still miss playing against, and reading, Rose and Frank and Rowan. I've disagreed with some of what Elizabeth thinks is realism etc. But hey... it's her game. Modding is not a democracy. That doesn't mean you can't give feedback - that's what this post is for, right? But personal attacks are just out of order, quite frankly, particularly considering she's got RL stuff going on in her life. I don't know what it is, but I doubt it's anything that is helped by people attacking her for something she does for fun. She doesn't get paid for this. Modding is hard work. Speaking as a mod, it breaks my heart when I only have time to do the modding part and not to actually play in my own game. But if you love a game, that's the way round you do it. You keep the game going because you love and cherish it, and you do the fun bit (playing) when you can. So... I'm not saying people leaving don't have valid points, just... don't be so hostile about it, yeah? She's a human being. I appreciate the leaving people probably aren't reading this but I wanted to say something regarding Elizabeth's right not to be abused anyway, just so she knows and you know and we know and, you know, knowing is going on. Right? Right.

I honestly didn’t want to write this, but I think this community is missing a few key points. Short and sweet.
1. Something really bad just happened – a HUGE slew of VERY ACTIVE players just up and walked. It cannot be entirely a sheep thing – no one just leaves beloved characters because one of their pals is unhappy and their friends will get mad if they don’t leave. I’m still here, after all, and I’m still friends with players who have left. By claiming this entire thing was completely high-school drama worthy and therefore not taking it seriously, you are not only disrespecting my friends but making a mistake in thinking this is not a symptom of a bigger problem. Those players had, for better or worse, what they felt to be legitimate reasons for leaving. The logical response is to stop, see which of those reasons truly were something to be upset about, and attempt to fix it to stop it from happening again. But by the mods, not players.
2. If you think this comm is perfect, you are either deluded or too inactive. So start threading or something. Also, walking in and claiming you know nothing of what’s been happening in the comm lately only to say ‘but here’s what I think’ is literally the worst thing you could do. Ignorance does not make for educated opinions, obviously.
I’m still sticking around. And I have another character hold in the process. But I won’t sugarcoat it, I’m not happy about what went down and my staying was very in question at one point. But I had no legitimate, personal reasons for leaving besides lost sls, but I still have some with remaining players that I would like to keep going with. If I do end up leaving, I will let everyone know.
Note: I did not spring this suddenly on the comm, the mods already know my feelings on this matter.

Another poltergeist here, coming out of the woodworks in lieu of the recent... well. I don't really have a word for it. I'd say ball-scratching, but that seems a little rude. And, consequently, not vulgar enough to describe what's going on here.
I won't even give you my two cents; I'm too poor. You'll have to settle for a penny for my thoughts.
Cliques? They happen. In RP, in RL, in your mother's underwea--, so it really doesn't make sense to complain about it. It's rarely ever a matter of hate, and more a matter of taste. Shall I break it down? ( Let's break it down. )
