I thought I'd seen everything since moving to California but today proved me wrong. I stopped to fill Maman's gas tank up after picking up the pups from the vet after their appointment and while I was inside paying for the gas, a man walked past me to the beer cooler, grabbed two cases of beer and walked out the door. The cashier didn't even pause other than to page for the manager to describe the guy to them.

There are a lot of places that do that. More so they can avoid conflict, since no one knows if the other person is carrying a weapon or not.

Unfortunately, that will happen just about anywhere you go. One of the main rules with a lot of places is don't play the hero. That way you can't get hurt.

I don't think Marc even realized something had happened. When I got back in the car he was just laying in the backseat with Duck. Juliet was watching out the back window though, almost whining.

They're our golden retrievers. Well Maman's golden retrievers but Marc has decided I'm his human. And only two of them. We have four. Antoinette and her Maman were at home. I can't take all four of them to the vet on the same day.

Non. It's fine. They do have very human names. Maman and I tend to treat them more as people than animals in some ways. They sleep in the house with us at all times, have their bowls in the dining room so that they can eat with us. They're family.

I've known people to still do that and not give their animals human names. Though, I like that. It's a nice change of pace.

If you have a friend named Marc and yell for Marc, you're bound to get both animal and human. What if someone hollered out your name but they had an animal with your name too?
