A megacorporation totally has your best interests at heart when they collapse an entire section of the city just to get at a few rebels. They don't care about the planet why should they care about the slums?

Oh golly, that sounds terrible. It's still hard to fathom this idea that lives don't matter if you get what you want.

Basically! We're fighting the evil corporation empire to save the planet. They're draining the planet of all its energy. It's some kind of magic life force thing and their energy plants are killing the planet.
