The world shakes and the winds blow all around. Variance in meteorology, I do believe they call it. Earthquakes. Tsunamis. Tornadoes in the Southeast of America, then up further, and now they are destroying Texas and Oklahoma. Calypso is displeased, or perhaps Poseidon has issued some form of control over her.

I wonder what dearest Amphitrite would be doing, now that her seas are full of waste and her husband's horses' leak acid.

The Rapture was nonsense. Now he says it was spiritual, not factual. October 21, he says, will be the end of the world.

Odd, though, that two of my family are among us...odder still, to think that the deities that frequent amongst us wouldn't happen to hear nary a word towards the destruction of all the earth.

What does this "prophet" know? Nothing. As she who was third in line to proceed over the Oracle at Delphi, I feel rather insulted.

Of course the man now claims it wasn't meant literally, lest he look like a fool.. even if it's a bit late to change that now. Plus, if he was really going away in a Rapture, why would his group still be taking money? People like him are always making ridiculous religious claims. Kinda funny from my side of it though. I'm tempted to give him a call personally, hehe.

Yes, he claims he was reading the Word too "spiritually" as opposed to "factually." Now he states that the world is under a spiritual justice, and that October 21st will see the destruction of the world.

Cruelly, out of my character ordinarily, I must wonder if his ears are so huge he hears voices that he equates with God radio FM. I'm far too attached to true prophesy to temper such nasty thoughts as it is, but I will not regret them come October.

Humanity has a curious compulsion to predict their own end. They've been doing it since they became remotely human... I've seen almost all of their predictions fail horrendously.

My favourite has to be the fellow who claimed that the end of the world would be heralded by a town being attacked by a flock of sheep. To be entirely fair on him, he was rather addled by radiation...

Human beings have always tried to predict the future...I'll never understand how a person in their right mind can text a number and find out if their lover is the one. What the heck?

They adore their superstitions and their 'predictions', especially when it comes to love. I suppose it's part of their charm as a species.

Only those blessed by the gods can provide proper predictions. There have been many true prophets throughout the history of the universe, though my favourite hoax is Joseph Smith.

Ah, one of my companions was fond of pointing out how so many words in his religion are just one letter off from 'moron'... I met the man myself, I seem to recall, and he wasn't very impressive.

One of his prophecies was that he and his twelve "disciples" would have their own seats in heaven along with Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Proven wrong, as many of them turned on him as a hoax.

Perhaps I speak cruelly, introductions. I am Phoebe, of the Greek pantheon, and the former owner of the Oracle at Delphi.

When I met him, I believe he was still looking into hats to 'transcribe' his book. How anyone ever believed him is beyond me.

It's always an honour to meet a true goddess. I'm known as the Doctor... and the highest title I can claim is 'renegade Time Lord'.

It would not be suitable for a false goddess to exist. We are as we have born—nothing more, nothing less.

Time Lord? How very interesting that is to hear, Doctor. Allow me suppose...time traveling, perhaps throughout the universe, yes?

You would be correct. All of space and time is mine to explore... well, it would be, had my TARDIS come through that vortex with me.

All of it? How very unheard of.

TARDIS being a vehicle of some sort?

From Event Zero until the very end.

It's a time machine that's intended to blend in wherever it lands - stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. Mine encountered a slight glitch in the sixties and has been stuck as a police box ever since.

I don't see a police box blending in a majority of places. Can it not be fixed?

I've tried. The last time I fixed it, I ended up landing back in the 60s... after turning into a pillar and an organ, it went back to the police box and jammed again.

I've grown somewhat fond of it, though, so I don't mind it being jammed too much.

I'm no scientist, I'm afraid, so I couldn't help you there. My science lies in the celestial bodies of the universe.
