AIDS Awareness

The Fabric of a Life
The Fabric of a Life
art by Steve Walker

Today, World AIDS Day, I'm remembering my dear friend Darin,
who died of AIDS related cancer on September 6th, 2002.

But my posts today are really more for the living, as I found some wonderfully smutty AIDS Awareness art and photography for you. I'm not doing much preaching today, just asking that you think before you do anything stupid. I've mourned enough people's deaths in my life, I'm tired of mourning. All I ask is that you use your brains, and use a condom. Oh, and that you enjoy the smut!

There will be an NC17 post coming up next, and later this evening, I'll kick off the December Month of Smut with the first of the Penis Picture Posts, so check back later in the day!

Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone here in the U.S. is eating enough to keep them going for a week or two. After all, as my roommate told me today, it IS against the law to not overeat on Thanksgiving Day, right? So keep that American spirit going, guys, and eat until you pop!

I have a few more pics for the NC17 crowd coming up next, so check back after you get another slice of pumpkin pie, okay?

Enjoy!

Fetish Fridays - Smutty Angels?

Last Fetish Friday we had Horns and Tails, so I thought this week we'd check out the other side, and see what kind of smutty trouble we can get into while wearing angel's wings. Luckily for us, it turns out there are lots of smutty angels out there. For the NC17 crowd, there's another post coming up, so don't go anywhere!

Oh, and there are a few icons at the end - help yourself, but if you do, please credit Smutday!

Don't forget to click on the pic to see the larger sized versions of some of the pictures.

Fetish Fridays gets Horny

For those of you who didn't catch it when I mentioned it on Halloween, we're continuing last month's theme this month, since I was a slug and didn't post a lot of what I had planned for October.  That means we're still working on Fantasy, Scifi and Horror in November, so I get to use my Horns and Tails pictures today for Fetish Fridays.  That's right, we've got tons of Horny Devils for you, and Satyrs, and Demons, and Minotaurs and...  I think you can get the idea.

As always, you can click on the picture to see them full-sized on my scrapbook.  For those of you that are members, the NC17 rated post will be coming up next.

Enjoy!

Have a Smutty Halloween!

I got stuck doing the candy giveaway part of the day, and didn't get to post these until late, but hey, what else is new, right? If I posted them on time, you'd think there was something wrong with me. I've been on an extended mope lately, and didn't actually do much this month, so I'm extending the Fantasy, SciFi and Horror theme into next month. Hopefully, you'll get a chance to see all those pics I wanted to share with you, after all.

But for today, it's the Halloween pics. This bunch is heavy on the women, as usual - but the NC17 rated post coming up next is heavy on the men, so it all evens out in the end. I'm trying not to duplicate the last several years worth of Halloween pics, so there are some great ones I didn't use this year - if you're interested in checking them out - here's a link to the old posts - The Halloween Tag. As usual, click on the pictures to see the larger sizes.

Enjoy!

Theme of the Month: October - Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction

That's right...October is the month for the fantastic and the horrific. I'm taking a wide view of the concepts - angels and devils, mermaids, centaurs and satyrs, aliens, tentacles, vampires and werewolves, zombies and ghosts, and even superheroes.  Anything goes.  And today I have a variety pack for you, to give you an idea of what I have in mind.  But feel free to interpret the theme however you want - I love it when you guys post.

And for those of you new to [info]smutday, please feel free to post anything at all, it doesn't need to have anything to do with the theme.  I just use that for inspiration.  Just make sure anything with naughty bits is behind a cut, and members locked.

Oh, and I owe BlackChaps a Superheroes post, so I thought I'd announce next week's Fetish Fridays post early.  If you've got Superheroes art/fanart you'd like to share, next Friday will be the perfect opportunity to post!

Just one post today - but we've got most of the bases covered - women and men, gay, lesbian and het.   And don't forget to click the picture to get larger sizes of some of today's art.

Enjoy!

Fetish Fridays - Art by Lynn Paula Russell

Today's first Fetish Fridays offering is by Lynn Paula Russell, an artist I found on EroticPrints.org.  She's an erotic artist who has a fascination with corporal punishment.  Yes, that means spankings, paddlings, canings and even whippings.  But for today, I chose spankings and canings.  You can see a lot of her illustrations on EroticPrings.org at her Illustrations Tag - just click on the book, then click on the illustration in the upper right hand corner of the article, you you can get to some higher resolution images of her drawings.  That's where I found all of these.

I know it's a change from my last few postings lately, but yes, this is het - with a little lesbian content thrown in for good measure.  But if you're hanging around for the gay sex, don't worry, the NC17 rated post coming up next is all about the gay sex.  And the kink, of course - it is Friday, after all.

Enjoy!

Artist: Sadao Hasegawa

I've been meaning to get a post or two of Sadao Hasegawa's art up for quite some time now, but my Hasegawa folder is such a mess that I've been putting it off, avoiding the cleanup I know I'll get into once I get started.  But since I really wanted to post his work before the second month of our Artist's Showcase is over, I decided to wade in and just grab some of my favorites.  So my files may still be a mess, but at least I got enough resolved to make a couple of good sized posts.

I tried to avoid using pictures I know I've posted before - there's so much of his work out there that I hate repeating myself.  So if you're new to [info]smutday and are wondering what else I've posted by Hasegawa, you can check out the Sadao Hasegawa Gallery over on my Scrapbook.  The newest art is at the top, of course, but you can find the older pictures at the bottom of the gallery.

Hasegawa was a fascinating artist - I love the way he mixed images from a number of different Asian, Indian and African cultures and beliefs together to form his art.  The link in the first paragraph will take you to the largest collection of his art that I've seen on the internet - I've found maybe half a dozen pictures that they don't have copies of on this site.  But with a lot of searching, I've found some much larger copies than what you may see there, so be sure and click through to the scrapbook to see the bigger sizes.  Just be warned: some of the files are huge.

There is an NC17 rated post coming up next.  And if I'm up to it, I'll have another Hasegawa post for Fetish Fridays - I saved all the bondage pictures for that post.  There are a few icons for you at the bottom of the post.  Help yourselves, just please remember to credit [info]smutday

Enjoy!

Artist: Dmitri V. Poltavski

Today I have a couple of very different artists for you.  First off is Dmitri V. Poltavski, who draws beautiful black and white pieces in pen and ink that just amaze me.  I know very little about this artist - I found all his work at Firegirls.com - that's where the link above goes.  He's Russian, and these are obviously his early works, but that's about all I could find.  Doesn't matter, though - these are gorgeous.  I think you'll enjoy them too.

This post is all women - the next is all men, and is NC17...it will be up shortly!  Oh yeah, there are a few icons at the end...help yourselves if you're interested - just don't forget to credit [info]smutday or [info]dustandroses if you take any.

Artist: Stéphane Dupré

Today I have a French artist by the name of Stéphane Dupré.   I was unable to find much of anything about him, except that he probably died or retired in the late '90s, since no one has seen from him since then. He was a pointillist, and I find that type art fascinating. I only know of one other pointillist that does gay art, Rex - and I've shown his art several times here. So I was thrilled to find Dupré's art in one of the Yahoo groups I frequent looking for gay artists. The things I do for you guys... *g*

So here's the R rated drawings, the NC17 rated set will be coming up as soon as I get this set up.  Oh, and since it's pointillism, you should definitely check out the versions on the scrapbook, it's really hard to see the incredible detail when scrapbook sizes them down like this.  But at least the people on dial-up can open the page this way, a lot of these files are huge!

Enjoy!

Oh yeah.  On a side note...I wrote some smut.  Feel free to drop by and check it out.  It's NCIS fandom, but it's not really necessary to know the fandom that well to read it...it's all about the bondage, the leather and the Dom/sub vibe.  If you're fond of big gruff bears, you'll probably like my original character, he's been a big hit so far.  It's over on my journal: Rough Comfort.  I hope you enjoy it.

Artist: SM Shifflett

I've been away, in case you haven't noticed...oh, maybe I mentioned the Oz Big Bang story I've been working on. Well, it's ready for the betas now...I've finished the first draft (OMG - 81,000 words!), so I'll be around again. Lucky you.

So I have an artist for you today that I'm particularly fond of. SM Shifflett is not the kind of artist that paints perfect people. She's a realist and her art portrays the people she sees every day. She's also a tattoo artist with her own shop in San Francisco, and a lot of her models are the men and women who come into her shop. I especially like the portrait of the activist Wickie Stamps - her gray hair and the bar bells in her nipples make a nice contrast that just points up her complexity.

I hesitated on the R rated portion her collection, because despite the nudity, these paintings are more portraits than they are smut, but I find them very fascinating and very attractive, so I decided to include them. But the NC17 post coming up next leaves no doubt in your mind that there's smut in there, so don't be disappointed...you'll get your fill.

Don't worry, despite the fact that she's a lesbian, there are plenty of men and het sex in her art, so everyone will see something they like.

Enjoy!

Artist: Richard Savage

I discovered Richard Savage during May, while looking for pics for Masturbation Month.  I think what I like best about him is the wide variety of subjects he chooses.  He's obviously more into women, lesbian and het, but when his fan base mentioned that they'd love to see gay men in his art, he started a new set of paintings with gay subject matter.  He also seems to prefer his Dom/sub kink with a male top, but he paints Femdom as well.  You can find vanilla as well as many varieties of kink and fetish in his work, so it's a little hard to categorize him.  And that suits me just fine.

Theme of the Month: August - Artist's Showcase!

Well, we're a week into the month, so I guess it's time to announce August's Theme of the Month, huh?  I've been running across some really fascinating artists, but I haven't had a chance to show them off, so this month is my chance to do that.  All month long, I'm taking artists we haven't seen much of in the past, and showcasing their work.

Today we have two artists - the picture below is by our R rated artist - Richard Savage.  That post will definitely be for everyone - male, female, gay, straight, kinky and vanilla.  The NC17 one is for Fetish Friday, with art by Chris from Poland.  So I'll leave you with this teaser for Richard Savage's post, and get the next post started.

Enjoy!

Fetish Fridays - Athletic Supporters!

I just couldn't possibly let a theme like Athletes go by without dedicating at least a couple of posts to the wonders of Jock Straps, now could I?  You may have seen a few of these before, but what can I say?  I have my favorites - like that first one by Minoru...nice.  The NC17 rated version is coming up next!

Note:
Due to the nature of the...beast, even the R rated post is likely to be a little...revealing. What can you do? They're jock straps, after all...they don't really leave a lot to the imagination, now do they?

Oh yeah...and there are a few icons at the end, in case you're interested...

Theme of the Month: July - Athletes

Theme of the Month?  Okay, let's make that Theme of the Half-Month, how's that?  It's not like I haven't posted anything this month, but it wasn't really on any one particular theme, or anything...  But since I had all this art with athletes in it that I never got around to during Uniform month, I decided to put them to good use.  So here they are.  Professionals, amateurs, kids playing in the streets, even dancers...it's all the same to me.  It's all got to do with how they use their bodies.  Ummm....nice.  And hopefully smutty, too!

By the way...the reason I've been so un-mod-like this month is that I'm writing a big bang fic for Oz fandom.  I'm going great guns on it...it's just shy of 29,000 words, and it's about half done.  Whew!!!  But when it's done, it's going to be one hell of a smutty/kinky fic, so hopefully you guys will get to benefit from all my hard work.  So if anyone wants to dig in and make a post or two this month on your favorite sport or athlete (or on any subject for that matter), I'd love you forever.  :::shifty eyes:::   Or at least a couple of months...

So yeah...here's some R Rated Athletes to whet your appetite.

Enjoy!

A Smutty 4th of July to you all!

Well, at least to those of you who celebrate it. And a happy/Smutty Saturday to the rest of you. I had a good deal of trouble getting these posted today...my publishing client wouldn't work, and LJ's Scrapbook is all screwed up, but I refuse to let my many frustrations cloud my good mood, because after about a month of minor monsoon season-type weather, the sun is out and it's a day to celebrate. The timing couldn't be better.

For those of you who aren't Americans, I promise, I tried to make the pics as Smutty as possible, so you should be able to enjoy them, even if the holiday doesn't do anything for you.  And for the Americans in the bunch - so you know...I added a few thought provoking pictures, like Michael Breyette's Don't Ask, Don't Tell and In the Face of Darkness (which was painted in response to the fight for same sex marriages) in this post, or Kamion's Tied by Duty which you'll see in the NC17 post to follow, but that doesn't take away from my appreciation of our holiday or our country.  Just the fact that they could be posted without censorship is a celebration of the freedoms we already have, even as it reminds us of the ones we've yet to achieve.

So Happy 4th, everyone!  Enjoy!

Note to all:

I'm an American, and was raised in the Christian tradition, so I usually know our holidays, but if anyone else ever has suggestions for other national or religious holidays to feature, let me know, and offer me some suggestions as to where to find stuff, and I'll be glad to feature your holidays, too.  I found a few Canadian and UK flags in my searches for today, so I have a start on those - so step up and tell me what you're interested in, okay?  Oh, and feel free to make your own posts, too, for that matter.  That always makes me happy.

The Legacy of Stonewall

Well, these two posts were ready to go Sunday evening, while it was still June 28th, but due to maintenance, Insane Journal was unavailable, so I'm posting them late.  So just pretend it's still Sunday, okay?  Thanks.

Today (June 28th) marks the 40th anniversary of the night that changed the world for millions of gay men and women - the night the police raided the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, NYC, and the gays fought back.  I'm not saying there weren't already people out there fighting for the rights of gays, but the Christopher Street riots charged the atmosphere, and practically overnight, what had been a small "Homophile Movement" exploded to become the Gay Rights Movement - and the world has never been the same.

At least mine hasn't.

I have a really cool link to share, but I'm not going to dwell on Gay Rights here. It's not the place, I don't think. But I do intend to celebrate Gay Pride with a couple of posts. However, if you're interested in an excellent program on the Stonewall Riots and the effect they had on the world, from the point of views of the men and women who were there, check this out:

Stonewall Riots 40th Anniversary

As for my posts today, I'm sure some of you will have seen some of these before...I have my favorites, after all, but I've got some new art and photos for you, too.  I included one piece by Neil Bruce at the end of this post that doesn't really have any overt references to gay pride, but the tattoo the guy is wearing is the emblem of the Human Rights Campaign, who are steadfast supporters of GLBT Rights, and it seemed appropriate.  Besides, I felt this post needed a bear, what with the high percentage of twinks and all...

The NC17 rated post will be coming right up - as soon as I get this one crossposted to all three journals - gasp!

Enjoy!

Uniforms by J. C. Leyendecker

It seems like I've been ignoring those of you who are not members this month, so I thought I'd put up some uniform pics that even those that can't, or don't want to view the NC17 rated art could enjoy.  As a matter of fact, there is nothing in any of these that's even rated PG13.  This is probably the cleanest post you'll ever see me make.  And after a extremely NC17 rated Insane Thursdays post and a rather intense Fetish Fridays post, we could probably all do with something a bit on the lighter side, right?

J.C. Leyendecker was an early 20th century illustrator famous for his covers for such illustrious magazines as The Saturday Evening Post and Collier's Magazine.  He was also well known for popularizing several ad campaigns - most especially the Arrow Collar Man, which was one of the longest running and most successful ad campaigns ever.  He was a contemporary of Maxfield Parrish, and friend and inspiration for a young Norman Rockwell, who admits he was influenced by Leyendecker's work.

Leyendecker was one of the most widely recognized commercial artists of his day, and his covers for the Post helped firm several iconic figures into the American consciousness, including the New Year's baby and the modern interpretation of Santa Claus.  In 1913, when Woodrow Wilson declared Mother's Day an official holiday, Leyendecker painted a Post cover commemorating the day, which some say actually began the tradition of giving flowers to celebrate the occasion.

And what does this all have to do with [info]smutday, you may ask?  Well, he was a fairly openly gay man, in an era that shunned that, and today, many gays claim to see homoerotic tendencies in much of his art.  Unfortunately, I'm not showing some of the most obvious examples, because there are no uniforms in them, but that's okay.  It's easy to appreciate his art and his lovely, lovely men even without the paintings with more overtly gay images.

I'm sure I'll make at least one more post of his art at some point - I don't have any of his Roaring Twenties art here, or any Arrow Shirt Men either, and his favorite model for those paintings was his lover of almost 50 years, Charles Beach.  I just love that - most marriages should last that long.  So yeah, you'll see more of him.  But for today, take a look at his uniforms - mostly Military and Sports related, but all of them fascinating.

As usual, the originals are larger.  In some instances, much, much larger, so click through to my scrapbook to see the full-sized editions.

Enjoy!

Uniforms by Les Toil

Some time back a member of Live smutday (sorry, I can't remember who it was, right now) linked us to a great artist by the name of Les Toil, who draws BBWs. For those of you not in the know, BBW stands for Big Beautiful Women. And Les Toil is definitely a lover of Big Beautiful Women. The women you'll see here are real, not constructs out of someone else's imagination. They submit their photos and their wishes for their painting to Les Toil, and he works with them to produce a work of art that is uniquely for them. Pretty cool, huh?

So I just happened to be wandering the internet looking for women in uniforms for this month's theme posts, and wandered back onto Les Toil's site. I hadn't realized he had quite so many paintings that fit our subject matter. Remember, I'm using a rather loose interpretation of the word uniform. A woman in a business suit is in uniform, in my opinion, as is a cook in an apron. So sit back and enjoy the Toil Girls!
