Batman Uses a Gun!

Chris Sims wrote a up True Bromance: Eleven Great Man-Crushes in Comics at ComicsAlliance.com. (It also includes a link to an amusing review of World's Finest #289--Superman and Batman Spend the Night Together) here: http://the-isb.blogspot.com/2005/11/where-they-went-wrong-superman-and.html) Also, the list includes Boostle.

My favorite line: In today's Post-Frank-Miller DC Universe, the World's Finest Superheroes have a pretty adversarial relationship that thrives on the fact that people will never, ever get tired of a guy who can move at the speed of light and shoot death rays from his eyes standing around like an idiot while Batman punches him in the face with Lex Luthor's class ring.

Personally, I prefer this one ( http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/126181.html) to WF #289, but here's another possible contender:

Just wanted to add some Bruce and Hal and Barry and Ollie:

And some Dick and Roy:

Dick runs into some problems in the cafeteria...

It is funny - the more Batman treats everyone like crud the more his friends and family want to be close to him.

And I never accepted Johns's Batman doesn't like Hal because he never feared the Batman. WTF? I sincerely don't think that Bruce thinks Superman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Black Canary, or any other JLAers "fear" him. They don't. The most basic explanation is the simplest - Hal Jordan, the man with the greatest willpower on Earth, the man without fear, snapped and gave into his base emotions, became a mass-murderer and wanted to remake the universe to his own design. To Bruce who (as is often pointed out) is not that far removed in his mental psychosis as the folks at Arkham, the idea that someone like Hal could snap would make him more filled with paranoia than normal (making him think that the Batman too might do the same). Hal let Bruce down, that's why he was done on him (this was actually pointed out in the Hal/Spectre series).
