Horror week: The Teen Titans are also dealing with ghosts.
And the New Teen Titans run continues...

Ever locked yourself out? If yes, were you lucky enough to have some clothes on? No?
Then maybe it comforts you that this also happens to superheroes. In this case, Dick is the poor victim of a sinister door that suddenly closes behind him...




Aaw. If this was a classic Roman Elegy, the door would now start talking to Dick and probably make demands for letting him in while totally checking him out. Which would be smart.

Actually I wanted to post only this image because it can easily stand for itself, but since we have horror week and New Teen Titans v2 #12 (1985) also offers a nice ghost story besides the almost naked Dick standing in the hallway... why not combining our NTT run with the theme?

Everybody's blatantly checking Dick out.
Anyways, he's not the only one to have an encounter with that mysterious girl: she also appears before Cyborg while he captures some evil guys. Of course the Titans gather, and apparently a murder happened in Dick's apartment several years ago, so they go there to investigate and talk to the neighbours.



In Mrs. Malenkov's apartment they see... THIS!



Yeah, I know they're definitely pointing to Joey, but they mean the picture at the wall behind him... at least I keep telling myself that they mean the picture.

However, the Titans are told that more than fifty years ago three people used to work in Dick's apartment who were later revealed to be gangsters. The girl on the family picture behind Joey was the daughter of Martin Cannon, a nice man who worked for the gangsters without knowing that they were bad guys and who came by every now and then. The Titans go into Dick's apartment next, where they see the mysterious girl, which then disappears again.
The janitor of the house finally tells them that some day the whole Cannon family went into "the apartment the young Dick Grayson is now renting", but the girl ran out screaming after a while. The janitor himself was knocked out (thus couldn't see anything) and the police never found the three gangsters or any sign of the Cannon family.
After long and complicated investigating the Titans finally get the address of one of the three gangsters:





Yeah, the table in the living room is the perfect place to store your notes about people you murdered.





They find the ex-wife and get more infos from her...



Looks like Dick has to move again. *sigh* How convenient that he never really has the time to unpack and leaves most of his stuff in his moving boxes.

I'll be pretty busy with real life issues the next two days and I don't know if I'll be able to make the random NTT posts, but I'll try.
That is, if you're not already tired of them. Just let me know.

That's a seriously ugly dress Kory's wearing in that cover photo. It reminds me of the horror that was Dorothy's wedding dress on the last ep of The Golden Girls.

But other than that--yay! Dick should be good at recognizing clothes from the 30s and 40s from his own childhood.

I think that's the dress she wore as Donna Troy's bridesmaid in Titans 50 way back when (1985, IIRC).

... I should stop digging through my old stuff so much and concentrate on the more recent issues. Except for B&R and Red Robin, I'm ~4 months behind.

What's next, kevlar pajamas and panties in case someone tries to sneak into Dick's bedroom at night? Which shouldn't be out of question.

Dick totally looks like a bishie on the cover. But the clothes...so dated...gaahhhhh.

I was considering earlier to make a "Dickie has a good day" post, but this is better. But this post has more naked Dick, so I like it better.

I wonder how the rest of the jumping rope song goes...

I think it's the S_D official motto: At S_D, it's never just you.
And nobody's complaining, especially when he's walking around his apartment after his shower.
Heck, Babs installed the Graysoncam for that very reason.

I believe the official consensus is that Dick knows about Babs's Graysoncam, which is why he spends so much time showering or walking around his apartment in minimal clothing.

Why? So they found a couple of bodies in the walls, it's hardly an eviction level offence... unless the residents committee is REALLY strict, though even then, once they realise that the guy in question is the buff cutie with the short towel I can see them overlooking it.

This probably isn't what the artist intended, but does it seem to anyone else that, in the panel where wife #1 is exhaling smoke, the smoke looks like it's glowing? I dunno - it's just his face is cast into shadow like there's a light source right close by, and then there's this bright orange smoke... is it just me?
