Wolfman and Perez meet the Teen Titans... for real.
I've got more New Teen Titans crack for you (yeah, blame me for re-reading the 1980's NTT comics and finding funny stuff here and there).
This time it's a short story that was attached to New Teen Titans #20 (from 1982), in which Marv Wolfman and George Perez meet our favourite teen heroes.
Oh, and it also includes a mad scientist named Igor Igorigorigorivich, his dumb assistant, a few killer robots and the whole crew behind the comic. And if that's not enough, have a small teaser:

So, what made Wolfman and Perez create this story? Were drugs involved? Did they lose a bet? And the biggest question: will there be another dance scene?

Do the weird poses in the bottom left panel count as dancing poses?

If there's any interest I can continue posting random 80's Teen Titans stuff, just say so.

That's George, taking Kirby Dots to the next level. With RINGS!

From some of the drawing I have seen surface in the last few years I think Perez is quit a perv. I think a secret stash of kinky drawing will be discovered upon his death somehow.:)

I once read an article where Perez bragged that, when he designed Scarlet Witch's "gypsy" outfit, he made sure she was not wearing underwear.

So, yeah, dirty old man, at least.

heh, yeah, he is. I've run across him a few times. Him and Larry Elmore will come right out and tell you they're dirty old men. I even let Larry take pictures of my backside (I was clothed) because he needed a quick model for a commission fetish piece he was working on while at the con. It was awesome.

OT, but your icon is disturbingly adorable. Or maybe adorably disturbing. I'm not sure which. Anyway, I like it.

No, he's quite open about it and his stash of kinky stuff is readily available in everything from "Sachs and Violens" to the link posted elsewhere on this thread.

I think the best part is where the Titans make their entrance, there's a little sign on the ground that says, "Perez Debris" because.. well.. no one can draw rubble like Perez!

You can't read it at this size, so I dug out my copy - first page scanned here, the note on the bulletin board next to Donna's stabbed headshot reads:

Eggs
Milk
Butter
Raygun
Ketchup

In that first panel pre-cut, I thought Wolfman was so flustered at meeting Starfire he was calling himself Mary.

It was funnier that way, so I'm going to pretend it's true. >_>

THIS, THIS, THIS! 80's Teen Titans (and, of all things, Micronauts) were what got me seriously reading comics back in the day. Up to then they were good, and fun, and I loved them, but I wasn't serious about it.

New TT was the first series I ever had a complete run of.

I saw Marv at a con back when he was still working on New TT, and he was hilarious. He and the Fan GoH (Gregg Hagglund, back when he was running the Dorsai Irregulars) played off each other like they'd been at it for years. Magic stuff.

I loved this when it first came out - an obvious homage to the Marvel Bullpen pieces they use to do with Stan, Jack and the rest of them in the 60s. I decided "Talk? I'll sing! I'll dance! I'll even recite the Koran!" would be part of my vocabulary if I ever was captured and interrogated. Fortunately, I've never had occasion to use it.

Not just that but Kurtzman and Elder. One thing about understanding Perez' style many overlook is that he absorbed just as much Elder, Wood and Marie Severin as anything; this is where the way he fills panels with detail comes from.
