... what happened to the relatively cool one with the long skirt/loincloth thing that actually had her more covered up than her normal look?
I... like the WW's pose. And her defiant face. The clothing is absolute fail!
Cassie looks like a Sin City extra. and that's all I'll say.
Okay that second statue has the single worst costume of any comic character I have ever seen in my entire life.
Crotchless, assless pants with underwear that snaps in. Kuh-lass-ayyy.
I think the only thing I've semi-liked out of the Ame-Comi stuff has been the Robin</a>(and maybe the batgirl, though only because it's covered). Ugh.
Somebody needs to tell Cassie you're supposed to wear pants under chaps.

I wonder if this is a Japanese company that DC uses, or an entirely American company.
Linda Carter Wonder Woman is really really pissed, But you can understand her.
Brb loling my face off
Cassie, your fashion choices seem to be particularly awful nowadays.
All of these anime inspired statues have been absolutely terible from Day One, but you kind of have to admire them. They obviously put a lot of thought and effort into making Wonder Woman's costume even more revealing. That's no small feat.
I've never gotten why people buy these statues; they're like less-usable action figures. You can't make them fight or bend them into naughty positions, which are the two things that made action figures so fun as a child.

Ok, I kind of like the first one because it reminds me of the cheesecake you'd see on Conan covers. The second one is just ugh though.
I can't help but think that the first one has some neat bits, costume wise, if one overlooks the overall effect. And then there's the hair.

That gorgon head looks so ridiculous...I'm not sure whether I should laugh more at it or the awful costume.
Seriously, if you didn't give Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl ridiculous anime eyes, I have no clue why you thought they'd look good on her.
Little Cassie Sandsmark. She grew up and filled out.
I find it hilarious that it's the one with the smaller breasts who has the better & more practical support for them.
I do like Diana's bracers though

there is a reason we have the super-torso tag
The redesign for Cassie is so eerily spot-on for post-YJ.
I have no words for the Wonder Woman statuette. None. The Cassie one, however, looks like a cowgirl slut costume gone wrong. Seriously, it reminds me of this chick I saw at the rodeo once. I'm pretty sure I was scarred for life...
I need to get that Lynda Carter doll for my aunt though. She loved that show back in the 70's. It's her jumping out of the tree in my icon :)
The Carter statue rocks.
The first WW....well I like the one covered leg/one not thing.
And Cassie looks like she just stepped off the set of Sin City.

Is it a crime that I liked Cassie's young justice era look the best? You know, goggles, jacket, WW shirt, normal shoes, Black wig, and all that?
Modly reminder: all posts need to contain a comic page or cover (or webcomic) for legality, as per the posting guidelines. Thanks.
...I don't know whether I want to laugh hysterically or sob despairingly.

The weird thing is, having been to too many comic book conventions, I know exactly what all those costumes look like in real life.
Is it objectification to make a statue of a woman dressed the way some real women actually dress? I have no idea. This is the point at which I get confused. I know that it's in poor taste, but is that the same thing as "wrong?"
I do think this is a more positive message than Slave Leia, which is actually a bit skimpier (though it has that all-important 2/3rds loincloth coverage).
The hair and expression on the first statue are stunning. That's a hell of a good job.
So, first two statues: RRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEE
Last one: Ooh, Linda Carter! |
