Obama! Liefeld! Madrock!
Sorry to have kept all y'all waiting.

4 pages from the newest issue of Youngblood, Rob's long awaited return to writing and pencilling his baby. If you're an Obamaniac (aren't we all?), you should know these are the *only* Liefeld pages featuring O in this issue.

There is an Obama cover as this is a flip book with a short supplemental tale with an Obama cameo (pencilled by Liefeld protege Marat Mychaels) but this's a new book so four scans allowed only.


Rob himself says:

"A couple things i wanted to add about Youngblood #9....

First, I'm extremely pleased with the story...it gets the series back on track. I'm more pleased with the story and the pace than anything else.

My biggest thrill is that Kirkman pulled me aside to tell me how much he enjoyed it! He even asked Marat later on in the weekend if I really wrote it myself or if it was a "ghost!"

Typical Liefeld- as soon as you get away from the head shot trace (ala Shepard Fairey/Greg Land) the face becomes so highly generalized that I don't think I would have recognized him at all.

I love how Obama's head changes shape several times, and he spends a good deal of time without eyes. Liefeld, you so baaaaad!

Oh, and panel four is a riot. He's all smiles, and then totally goes serious when he mentions the Secret Service guys. He's all like, "Those guys are MAH BOIS, but y'all SS guys suck". The expression on the tall guard's face is also priceless, "Well you suck too, Mr. President."

Wait...in panel two is he suggesting that a Secret Service guy put pressure on the Speaker of the House? Or is he expecting her to get violent and attack Obama, so he need protection?
