It's a guy thing
Someone asked for Connor Hawke scans a while back, and while I'd like to post the JLA stuff with the most likable fellow to go by the name 'Green Arrow' I haven't been able to dig it out yet. I'm disorganized. I did find something during my rummaging that I thought was worth posting though.

I think almost everyone knows how Ollie died (OMG, SPOILER!?), refusing to let Superman rip his arm off he perished when a plane exploded (well, there was a little more to it than that, but whatever). The heroes all mourn in their own ways until Guy asks something that really should have come up sooner...

Much as I'm fond of Connor in het relationships ("Connor! You slept with Dinah while I was dead?! Seriously, Dinah? Very female Dinah? In the fishnets and everything? Man, I never would've guessed,") Roy already called dibs on the vaguely Oedipal relationship with Black Canary- Connor needs to find his own first-Green-Arrow's-ex to have inappropriate tension with. Maybe Hal can get drunk and maudlin at Ollie and Dinah's wedding reception and try to pick him up.

	"He's the greatest guy and biggest jerk I've ever known." I love that description, if only because it sounds so much like, "I know he loves me, it's just he sometimes gets angry." The 90's were such a happy time. Green Arrow was dead. Hal Jordan was dead. Iron Man had a company and his intelligence. Bart Allen and Kon-El were alive. I miss those happier times. Those last few pages are genius. One of the things I've always liked about Ollie is that his whole persona is basically based on a massive geek-crush - it's a nice other side to him, considering that he's usually more of a campus radical type. It'd be like if a Star Wars fanatic cobbled together a working lightsaber, got himself a costume, and went 'I hereby declare myself... the Skywalker!'
