Noh Varr !
I loved this series when it came (yup it's grant morrison and I liked it). Then it just disapeared... after a brief appearance in Civil War, he's back as Captain Marvel(?)in the Dark Avengers...

That Karla is a lucky gal.

This part remned me alot of the "Infinite Improbability drive" from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy .

Have we ever learned more about this alternate universe Kree empire ???

Not really, although now I'm wondering a) how much or how little SWORD knew at the time about Midas blowing their ship out of the sky, and b) whether Noh-varr's home reality might be accessible via ghost box.

You and your silly continuity.

Oh, I loved this thing, probably the most energetic of all these attempts to approximate the pace and scope of action films(though i always thought that a little wrongheaded). My favorite is the most Granty part: "Hexus, the Living Corporation." I've worked there.

When Marvel started using Noh-Varr in regular Marvel continuity, they missed or ignored something Morrison hinted at: not only does the character come from an alternate-universe Kree Empire, but the Marvel Earth on which he arrives may be an alternate universe as well. That is, it has a Fantastic Four and a Hulk and a Captain America and an Iron Man, but not necessarily the ones seen in the other Marvel books. What else to conclude from "Professor Reed Richards" discovering the "Positive Zone" in the first issue?

I recall a few other inconsistencies too, like Dum Dum being head of SHIELD. Also, I think it was implied that Captain America was dead in this world.

To be fair, he does go about discovering strange Zones all the live long day, makes sense he'd come across a Positive one. Although I'm pretty sure that the original series was meant for it's own continuity when it started.

Yeah, didn't Quesada once imply that Marvel Boy was the "first" Ultimate book?

I really wish Morrison could have finished his Marvel Boy books the way he intended.

That's right! I forgot all about that. I also get a little sad every time I come to the end of the original mini-series and see "Coming in 2001! MARVEL BOY 2"

First I heard of that. Could've been cool, though now it's mostly impossible since Kree are fishlike in Ultimate Marvel now.

The plans were quickly scrapped after Quesada and Morrison had a parting of the ways. Could have been awesome.

Technically, it was Morrison & Jemas.

Back when it first came out, I wrote up an FAQ addressing the "Is it in continuity?" issue. I concluded there was nothing to prevent it from being included (for example, Dugan was addressed as "Director", which indeed was part of his title: "Special Director").

Ah. Apologies for my instinctive urge to blame Quesada for everything!

I knew there must have been something. I thought it was such a strong project and then just...nothing. Too bad,I'm glad to have him back but me thinks it would have been better in the other universe.
