Otto Octavius: Magnificient Bastard
Dang reading that preview to Amazing #600 has left a bad taste in my mouth. So I decided to delay scanning Tales of TMNT for this, an Ock moment from Spider-Man vol. 1 #18 washing away that yucky taste.

OK, now James Robinson's just parodying himself.
As I make my way through my insanely large read pile, I get to two months worth of Supermans. I wasn't really happy with Robinson's run when he first started, but I've been happier with it since the cast changed to Mon-El and the SPs - his particular style of dialogue doesn't stand out as badly when it's not being layered on Superman and his usual supporting cast. But, his...Robinson-ness, for want of a better word, is still there.

The Reformation of Paula von Gunther
These are from Wonder Woman #3, 1943. This is when the reformation of Baroness Paula von Gunther begins. I suspect Marston just decided on the spur of the moment to reform her, because the motivation he gives her seems totally unconvincing in light of everything she's done up till now.

DCU Holiday Special
As requested by [info]ladymirth, scans from last years DC Holiday Special.

In A Day Without Sirens, there are posters up advertising a day without guns, knives, etc. Despite Jim Gordon's complete disbelief, there are 24 hours without a single 911 call and a downtrodden Jim is much cheerier when he meets Batman, who seems quite happy himself.

In It's a Wonderful Night, Dick runs into trouble while trying to hand deliver a special present for Tim. He then discovers Tim with Owen Mercer at a showing of 'It's A Wonderful Life'.

In The Night Before Christmas, the Teen Titans take a christmas break and go hang out. Tim is a bit emo and he and Cassie reflect at Rockerfeller Centre.

In Party Animal, John Stewart (Green Lantern) and Roy Harper (Red Arrow), are late for the Christmas party, which even Batman is attending. They bring Shaggy Man along to give S.T.A.R labs a break, who gets spooked by the singing. Let's face it, you would too. It all ends with a good partying.

Dirty... duck?
Here's a sample from 1971 of Bobby London's DIRTY DUCK. This strip started out in the undergrounds, moved on to THE NATIONAL LAMPOON and then PLAYBOY. There's an overwhelming George Harriman influence in the art, but instead of the surreal and baffling interplay between Krazy Kat, Ignatz and Offisa Pup, DIRTY DUCK reveled in raunch. Sex, drugs, questionable language and attitudes not suitable for good citizenship.. that was the ticket. London went on to take over the POPEYE strip. He was also married to talented Shary Flenniken (who gave us TROTS AND BONNIE).
