Sirius had a good idea of where the COS agents were headed. Gold City was a small, western-style town -- the sort of place that Sirius might have described as "quintessential American," if that was his thing. Of course, it wasn't his thing any more than wearing the same, ugly blue t-shirt and khakis was his thing. He must have looked ridiculous, but since he and everyone else had become cartoons, he supposed it didn't matter what he looked like.
From his perch near the saloon, he could see where the COS agents were headed. "Got my eye on the prize," he said quietly into the comms, "is the jerky placed? We might be in for some fun." The COS agents seemed to be heading towards the stable, perfect place for an ambush.
Despite being a cartoon, Caroline still managed to have her speed and everything else that made her Caroline Salvatore. She was in a tight white dress with pink trim, had a bring pink scarf on and low heals, sure, she’d love to change and really running in a dress wasn’t her idea of fun, but there was just so much they could do!
She’d speed off with some beef jerky and placed it quickly before speeding back to where Sirius was keeping lookout.
“In for some fun? What do you see?” She asked her words a little more cheesy than they normally would have been. She’d noticed that while being a cartoon.
Sirius nodded in the direction of the stables. The two COS agents had disappeared inside while Caroline was placing the jerky. Whatever they were up to was probably not good.
"Two of our goons -" Goons? Definitely, not a word he normally used. "- were headed in that direction. Think they might be up to something?"
Frowning she nodded slowly. “Our goons, as in,” she leaned over dramatically and loudly whispered. “COS Agents?” As he confirmed she nodded.
“We better check it out, we’ll have to stop them if they are!” Caroline got on her tippy toes and crouched awkwardly as she started to creep forward.
Sirius held out his wand, creeping a few feet behind Caroline. "Should we split up?" he asked quietly. "You take the front, I take the back?" Sirius didn't have the speed - or general immortality - that Caroline did, but he was decent enough wizard. He could probably handle whatever these goons had up their sleeves.
Caroline nodded but stopped. “Splitting up is good in pairs, but it’s just us,” she really should say yes, and she didn’t normally need a lot of second opinions. “Maybe I should take the back and you should take the front, I can sneak up on them better, you can distract them!” She countered instead.
Sirius eyed up the situation and then nodded. "Alright," he agreed, edging towards the front of the barn-like structure. He kept his comms on and his wand out. It was darker on this side of the town, all except for the glowing yellow light from within the stable. "Looks like a…" He worked out the words in his head. "Interrogation scene?"
It was easy to move quickly as a vampire, but she still felt like her movements were a little more exaggerated than she would like. She was looking in a window and the light was shining down. Gasping slightly she nodded to Sirius’s words, not that he could see her. “We better go take a closer look and put a stop to it!”
Sirius felt every step exaggerated, as though he were creeping forward on tiptoes into the stable. Fortunately, he was able to keep to the shadows and, for the most part, out of the line of sight of the 'goons.' "Creepers -" and blimey, where did he get that word from? "-looks like they've got one of our associates…" Or, well, one of the associates of the previous mission. Time travel.
“Jinkies!” Caroline let out and made a confused face the second she did. “Is that one of the dogs?” She whispered, her head turning slowly and her eyes moving dramatically as she looked around. “We better get that pup out there lickety-quick!” Frowning she was really hoping that this wasn’t shown on TV anywhere. “Let’s set a trap!”
Sirius surveyed the scene, taking into account the single light above the 'goons,' the empty horse stalls, and the pup right in the center of it all. "Okay…here's the plan… I transform and cause a distraction -- see those empty stalls, I can lead them on a merry chase -- while you get that pup to safety." It was, as far as plans went, a stupid one, but it was the best he had at the moment. Besides, what was one more dog to throw in the mix? He wondered what he would look like as a cartoon dog.
“Don’t forget a move really fast!” Caroline nodded to the plan waiting for Sirius to change into his dog form. The cartoon Sirius made her smirk as she waited for the right time to dash in to get the captured pup. She noticed one of the agents seemed to have shifter eyes than the others and tried to give a heads up to Sirius with dramatic arm movements but wasn’t sure if it worked.
Sirius nodded and then transformed, slowly shifting into an oversized black dog. His cartoon-dog-shaped was pretty much the same as his usual dog form, but he still felt like all of his movements were super exaggerated. He crept away from Caroline, until he felt he was far enough away to drive the goons in the opposite direction. When he was far enough to give her some space, he started barking exaggeratedly, hoping the villains were falling him as he ran off.
Everything happened in a blur! There was dust, yells, barks and before things settled and the COS agents were tied up, or vanished and they were pulling the pup out to safety.
As the three of them got outside they all breathed unnaturally heavy for a few moments before creeping off the screen.
