gotham, quicklog: graham and clem have breakfast.
[Sunrise, and Graham was wide awake.
The baby didn't fuss much, Clem was right about that. But he liked watching her all the same, whether she was asleep or awake just staring at him with those eyes; hell, he didn't even mind it when she did cry. He hadn't been sure about being a father again, but as soon as he set eyes on his daughter, well, it was love at first sight. He was hooked. Sure, he still didn't have a name for her--in the meantime she was "baby" or "sweetheart" or "love"--but he was working on that, he was. And things were okay. No job yet, Jake was mad at him and hear tell Shane was mad at him, too, but Graham felt a little less done than he had before taking off for the zombie door. He had Lore back, and he had his little girl; what more did he need?
Maybe breakfast wasn't a real good idea, but Graham figured he couldn't just avoid Clem forever. He'd been a damn fool about the whole thing, made her miserable no matter what she said but this could be a new start, or something, back before parties and before everything got so complicated. Easier that way. He'd tried for too long to be somebody that other people could make sense of, but truth was he just wasn't good at making himself understood, and he was tired of getting himself all twisted up.
So, here he was. Early some, and leaving the baby had been hard but Graham knew he couldn't bring her along. Clem wanted updates, not visits. He sat at a booth in the diner, jeans and his usual plaid, jacket on the seat beside him. He didn't look like a man who'd spent days with the undead anymore, and he ordered a coffee while he waited.]
