capullo de rosa; dietre & hugh.
WHO: Dietre and Hugh.
WHEN: Wednesday night.
WHERE: Capullo de Rosa
SUMMARY: Dinner and possibly dancing? Totally not dating.
WARNINGS: None to start. Will update.
If it weren’t for the way their conversation on the forums had gone, Dietre would not have been so nervous about going out to dinner with Hugh. Or at least, not as nervous as he found himself becoming as the hours ticked down to when his friend would come to pick him up. There were so many mixed signals happening that he had no idea what he was supposed to do, which direction he was meant to take. The worst thing was that he knew he was doing this to himself. Hadn’t he been the one to instigate the flirting and hadn’t he kept it up long after he should have stopped? Hugh flirted back because it was his nature, it didn’t mean anything, yet Dietre found himself over analyzing, searching for what he knew wasn’t-- couldn’t be there. Dressed in head to toe black, Dietre somehow managed to avoid looking as though he were going to a funeral. His sense of fashion kept him on this side of chic. Of course, he was ready entirely too early, as was his way. Swarms of butterflies made war in his gut, and when Hugh arrived he probably would notice the change in Dietre. He was more reserved, quiet like he had been on their first meeting, only he smiled frequently (small, shy, bashful sort of smiles) and was a little more capable of idle small talk. Thankfully Hugh was skilled enough to deal with the silences, and his radio made up for anything else that was lacking. Dietre was clueless about any genres beyond classical, so he felt he had an excuse to be quiet while he listened to whatever Hugh played during their ride to the Capital. Capullo de Rosa was a place that Dietre was proud to work at. It housed a collection of beautiful things, and when Dietre played, it was filled with beautiful music. There was nothing raunchy or tacky like at the carnival. There was an aura of classic elegance, and Dietre, tall and sleek in his black suit and high cheekbones, looked like he belonged there. Caspar Andrews must have thought so, otherwise he wouldn’t have hired him. Once they were shown to a table and seated, Dietre seemed to be a bit more comfortable. Perhaps it was because they weren’t completely alone with each other. He glanced over at Hugh after setting down his menu, a hopeful look in his eye, “What do you think so far?” He couldn’t help but seek validation, wanting the restaurant to have Hugh’s approval. |
