Re: adrian's place; dietre & hugh
Sieglinde always came to the rescue for anyone who needed it. She knew when to distract, when to entertain, and when to comfort. Dietre called out to her at Hugh’s insistence, “Are you really proud, liebchen?” The pup’s tail wagged and her jaws opened into a doggy grin which made Dietre smile as he turned to Hugh to say, “I think that’s a yes.”
Even though he had only seen the movie once, Dietre was able to recognize the imitation. He was about to compliment Hugh for it when the man quipped about not wanting to keep to his space. It might have gone over his head if it weren’t for the way Hugh bit his lip with an expression that Dietre couldn’t quite decipher. Was that regret, or was it shyness? Dietre blinked, unsure if he was meant to respond. He managed a confused sounding ‘Oh.’ before Hugh hurried past the moment.
“Um. Yes. Lets try.” Dietre took hold of Hugh’s hand and attempted the spin. He moved slower than the pace of the music and counted out the steps aloud, but in the end he managed decently enough. Still, he wasn’t quite satisfied.
“It's different when it's done in the midst of the dance, though, isn’t it?” It was one thing to do a spin when they were standing in one spot, it would be another to do the spin while they were already dancing and to continue on dancing smoothly afterward.
