| It's a clusterf#ck; what did you think would happen? |

I just got news yesterday that a project I'm working on with someone else has to be extended due to circumstances totally beyond my control. And why yes, that does mean someone else fucked me up.
Anyway, the upshot is that those of you who wrote me wistfully asking if we'd be extending the deadline for the Clusterfuck Challenge can now smile and sing and dance, because we are. (Those of you who were working hard to meet the original deadline, email me and I'll give you the contact info for the person who screwed me up on this project so you can yell at her. God knows I got a lot of relief out of doing it.)
Submissions will now be due on Sunday, July 12, at NOON Pacific (California) Time; there will be a ten minute grace period.

Okay, everyone, I just sent the very last of the challenge assignments! I think everyone got their first choices, but we're only human so if we got something wrong, or if you didn't get an email from us yet, please email cfchallenge09@gmail.com or comment here and we'll fix it!
I did have some trouble sending as we had so many signups -- OVER A HUNDRED, YO! -- that Gmail thought it was spam, LOL. But I'm hoping they all eventually went through. Let us know if not... and thank you for such an amazing turnout. I'm so excited!

My spreadsheet posse (![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) testdog65 , notreallyme10 , and fansee ) has done a preliminary layout of the sign-ups so far, and it's looking VERY EXCITING!!!! Spreadsheets scare me, so I volunteered instead to post this reminder. :)
You have one more day to finalize what you'd like to do, and for what theme, or do a team sign-up. Don't hesitate to post if you have questions, or to email us at cfchallenge09@gmail.com!
And remember: you won't be given an assignment you don't sign up for. I'm not sure where that idea came from, but we're giving everyone their requests -- probably your first choice, in fact. And if you sign up for only one, then you get just that one -- just like a regular challenge.

Don't forget, sign ups run until Wednesday! We have dozens of drabbles, fics, icons, graphics, and a few team entries already, but we're greedy bitches in this fandom and want more more more more more.
This challenge is for all kinds of fan works -- fic, drabbles, icons, graphics of all kinds including doodles and cartoons, picspams, vids... even meta! You know you want to, so do it!

Hello, and welcome to the next challenge here at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) qaf_challenges!
Although we, your loyal fandom servants xie_xie_xie , testdog65 , fansee and notreallyme10, have labored long and hard to make this as uncomplicated as possible, you'll only have to glance at it to know why we're calling it "The Clusterfuck Challenge."
Yes, it's complex. But we think it includes things that might inspire virtually everyone in fandom to create what we all want more of: Fic, drabbles, meta, icons, graphics, vids, picspams... you name it, we want it. And now we're gonna get it!

I have created a new asylum!
It's called qaf_prompts and it's for posting fic prompts.
It is a little similar to qaf_challenges, but there is no deadline for fics and writers can post their own fic at any time instead of submitting it and having it posted anonymously. Oh, and anyone may post a prompt!
The first prompt has already been posted - Cha Cha! - and we have one gorgeous fic already but I'd love to see more!

Five new fics in the amnesty portion of the "Small Things Made Large" challenge!
This challenge began with 50 drabbles written as prompts for longer fics. I'm posting these amnesty fics with the authors' names revealed, and the drabble that inspired the fic is included at the beginning of the story, along with its author.

| Small Things Made Large: The amnesty! |

As promised, I'm going to have a short amnesty period for full length fics from the second phase of the "Small Things Made Large" challenge.
The challenge is to write full length stories -- minimum word count 500 -- that are inspired by the drabbles in phase one. The drabbles are here.
Unlike the earlier challenge, you can write a full-length fic for any drabble, even if you are also the author of the drabble(s),
Because this is a short challenge, I really need you to sign up for it so I know what to expect. Please sign up on this post, even if you already let me know on my earlier post that you were or might be participating.
Fics will be due on Friday, April 3 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time (the time in San Francisco, California). There will be a ten minute grace period. I will post them on Saturday, April 4.
Please carefully read this earlier post to see all the rules, the header info that I need, how to submit your fic, etc.

| Small Things Made Large: The reveal! |

Hello!
Xie's little helper, fansee, will be assisting me in adding the authors' names to each drabble and fic in both phases of the challenge, as well as the master lists. We'll be doing this ASAP, but it might take some time to complete because between LJ and IJ that's 146 fics.
In the meantime, for those who want to know now now now, and to allow the authors to link to, respond to comments on, crosspost, and otherwise own and claim their works... the reveal!
The drabble master list, currently listed by drabble number, is here. Until we have updated it with authors, you can cross-reference with this list:

I've had an amazing number of requests for an amnesty for the "Small Things Made Large" challenge. I'm happy to run one, and I'm going to throw in a twist: authors can write full length fics for their own drabbles if they wish.
However, unless I get at least five firm commitments for amnesty fics, I'm not going to do this. So if you missed the deadline, or inspiration hit you after it passed, could you please comment here and let me know if you're in? If you are tentative, please let me know that, too.
Amnesty fics would be due April 3 at 11:59 PM California time.
This will not delay the announcement of the next challenge, by the way. I'll be announcing that on Wednesday when the authors of the current fics are revealed. :) |
