Who: Selene and OPEN! Bad guys, good guys, more then one! Come one, come all. Or something. ;)
Where: Walking home, hiding down an alley
Why: Help! (I am sure she could kill them on her own but I thought it would be fun to play with someone new! And I didn’t realize that when I sent her out that I should have kept her in).
When: 10PM, (after the city has started to look like something from a horror movie)
Status: HOPEFULLY, IN PROGRESS!
Rating: PG-13
What a foolhardy thing to do! She scolded herself silently as she left the seedy bar behind. Durable stock. Had a piece of her. Words she never should have heard echoed in her head. Why had she gone looking for him, Selene needed no one to grant her permission to do her job. She understood the fear he felt, that she would fall again and he would not be there, but she had never let such an emotion control her before, why now? Lover or not she refused to be ruled by a man, especially one who thought so very little of her.
A thought that stabbed her in the chest violently. After all they had shared, all they had gone through, to be disregarded so easily left her hurt and angry. More hurt. Still she knew it was a burden she would have to carry in silence. To admit she followed him would be a great betrayal of trust.
She had run far enough a way that she was certain she could stop. Hidden in the deep shadow of a crumbling building Selene slumped back, her head leaning against the decaying brick.
It smelled…awful. Selene stepped away from the building, turning to further examine it. Her fingers brushed against the rot and filth. “What on earth?” In her rush to run from the pain in her chest she had not noticed the world around her. The stench of death and rot. How very dark it was, unnaturally so.
Or the strange noises creeping along behind her in the shadows. “Shit.” She muttered as she drew a gun. Adrenaline pumped fast and hard through her veins, igniting her eyes with vision to see through the dark. What she saw she wished she had not. For the first time she saw what followed, cloaked by darkness. Selene held tight to the gun in her hand ducking back as far as she could, hoping the shadows would hide her. This city was filled with things she knew little about. What if the gun did not work? Or if these strange knife wielding creatures had some sort of magical power?
Maybe they would just move past….
