It was never really a strange sight to see one particular blond up and about around these hours of the night. Paige Elisabeth Guthrie had a tendency to work on three or four hours of sleep a night and she'd gotten that earlier. With so many things to get done, new projects to start, rooms to keep clean and people to take care of. Just recently she'd started a program that would tap into satellite feeds, wanting something that would help the X-Men figure out if a fight was mutant related or not. With Professor X gone, Paige wanted to reach out and find the mutants that were stuck on their own. In a world like theirs, Paige thought that there were a lot of kids who had gifts that were only hearing one side of the story. If Paige could use her program to find other mutants, then maybe they could help them make a decision that was better thought out. But this morning, she was nowhere near the computer lab. Her program started giving her a headache when she couldn't figure out an equation she needed to get rid of one of the bugs. After saving everything and shutting it down, she'd made the decision to ask Kitty when she was up and from there, she headed to the kitchen with a pair of earphones in her ears and her iPod stuck into the side of her pajama shorts. The music was nice and mellow, perfect for using while she cleaned up in the kitchen. The way she saw it, she could easily have the kitchen cleaned and breakfast cooked by the time people were up. She had the energy so she didn't see why not. In a matter of moments after crossing the threshhold into the kitchen, Paige's slippers were sliding along the floor to the sink and reaching for the cleaning supplies underneath it. There wasn't a lot to do, but there was enough. As she cleaned, she danced to the music. Paige couldn't be called the best dancer in the mansion by a long shot - as far as the blond was concerned, that priveledged title was completely saved for Kitty - but she wasn't ungraceful. And she wasn't moving all that much anyway. She simply swayed and twirled to the music in her ears, running the cleaning rag over the cabinets one moment and then sweeping up the floors the next. She didn't even realize she had company as she cleaned, she just kept cleaning and humming. |
