"I wouldn't say they were glamorous," Warren said with a slow shrug. "I just know that a lot of people around here at one time held you in the greatest respects. Ro and Kitty being two of them, of course." Most of the others had since moved on but all of them had spoken of Scott in nothing less than fondness. Well, except for maybe Logan, but Warren never really knew the guy. As they both settled into the kitchen and Scott asked how long they'd been students, he couldn't help but grin. "I haven't been a student here for at least six years." He glanced at Paige. "Do I really look that young?"
It was such a surprising question that it really took him off guard. "I joined up here around the time of your disappearance. While I was going to college I stayed here and became a team member, but I've never been an actual student of Xavier's. Now I help my father run a company." There was no need to go into which company as it would sound like bragging. And Warren wasn't the type to showcase his achievements, wealth, or status.
Well at least he knew if he was ever having trouble sleeping he'd be in good company. Not that keeping the company of a young woman Paige's age in the middle of the night on a regular basis would ever be appropriate. He just...needed to sleep. "What is it with this place and genius women?" It was only a half joke. He'd never met a stupid female here and didn't think he ever would. The men didn't quite reach that level in his experience. There had been a few idiots floating around occasionally. "That's really great, Paige," he said sincerely. "I like coming back here to see familiar faces. Even if they've changed a bit over the years."
He had to think about her question. This was technically his second night back? "Well I was here for a night last week and this is my second night back officially. Ororo sounded like she needed some help with things, what with her Second just up and heading back to Ireland. So I figured I'd stay here for awhile and see how I could help. Right now I'm working on three different projects." His smile was weary. "I almost feel like I'm home."
