[ Event | Video | Action ] Spa Night #3
[ Video | Open ]
I want to thank everyone who showed up today's Sign Language class. I know we've lost a few students in the past few weeks, but I appreciate everyone's adjustments to their partners. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say this in the class, but... thank you all! [ She smiles, turning to look toward her handiwork. The scene behind her is that of the public bathing area, but things are... different. Candles are strewn about, incense has been set up, and tables piled high with wigs, make-up, and other beauty products are all lined against open spaces that are unoccupied by the baths themselves, or low stools.

Doesn't it just make you curious?

Here is where switches the privacy settings~ ]

Ladies, it's that time again! [ Jeanne sounds giddy, and it's been a while since she's shown that sort of expression over the network. ]

For those who have been here a while -- I'm so sorry! I know it's been over two weeks, but I've just been so busy, so hopefully you'll all forgive me when you see what I have in store tonight. [ She steps aside, motioning with her arm to the tables from before. ] When Acumen announced the costume party, I just had to set this up today.

We all have to look -- and feel -- our best for tomorrow, right? [ Pointing to the camera, with a wink. ] So let's help each other!

[ Private | Diva ]
[ Several hours into the afternoon, thoroughly invigorated by the anticipation of tomorrow, and still running off the high from the events of the day, she decides to brave a call. If Diva found out that she had been left out, she would likely be upset, and with practically the whole dome on alert now, it was best to be cautious. She could handle this. ] Diva, are you going to be going to the party tomorrow? There's not much time to pick out a costume before tomorrow, so... let me know if you want any help.
[ /Private ]

(ooc: Same as previous times~ Event-style tagging, threadjacking and mingling highly encouraged! || Party-crashers are welcome this time, thanks to Jeanne's lack of stealth -- but please try not to outnumber the actual guests? Thank you! ♥)

(ETA: I wanted to emphasize that action is encouraged, and you don't have to tell me (or Jeanne) before tagging in. Have fun!)

Oh god, Jeanne, RUN

You're right, and that doesn't sound familiar..... but! What's the use of having all sorts of people from different worlds if you don't learn from the experience? [ Looking around, she motions to a nearby table and steps over it, beginning to clear a space. ] We can set things up here, if you want, for others.

You don't know the danger you're in, Jeanne!

That sounds wonderful! [she helps clear a space, setting up the onigiri and sandwiches proudly and producing a few drinks-- pre-canned and safe, thankfully-- to set along beside them. Sandwiches make people thirsty sometimes, after all!]

I was surprised at how many people I knew here from home, actually. Some people don't seem to have many people from home, but there were so many for me!

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

She doesn't; but the Guilford muse does...

Really? [ She smiles, though it's dim. ] I don't actually have anyone here from my world -- I guess they should be lucky not to be in prison, though.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Guilford doesn't like Cecile's cooking? :[[[

It depends on what your life was like back home, I suppose! This is a nice experience, but I'll be unhappy if I never return home. For some people... Well, I can see how being here would be even better than being at home.

Is it lonely?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Do you remember his face in that episode? He did not look enthusiastic...

2011-01-28 11:25 pm UTC (link)
Well... that's true. [ Jeanne rubs a thumb against the edge of her jaw a moment. ] The situation isn't ideal here or at home, but... in either case, I have someone who replaced me that's close enough so that my friends at home can't tell I'm gone. [ Then she smiles. ] And I have people here I can help and support, so that gives me a reason to want to stay.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He is just uncultured. :x

For me, back home, most things are already taken care of. There's people I miss that aren't here, but I'm not worried-- and if there's a replacement, all the better.

I just worry that I'll go stir-crazy after being here too long.

Britannians are the epitome of culture and taste!

Well, it's good if your mind is at ease. [ She wishes she could say the same, but. Nothing to do about it now. ]

You'd be surprised at how good this place is at keeping things interesting... [ Motioning. ] Take this for example. What kind of prison do you know that lets people set up spa nights?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I dunno, without the Japanese she wouldn't have jam onigiri.

It's much more welcoming than the prisons I've been acquainted with, certainly! There's certainly a lot to do, but all the same-- I'll get homesick eventually.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Welp. Can't argue that :\a

Better than any barracks I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. [ Said with some wry humor. Or being help in. ] I think being homestick just comes natural to everyone. The key is, really, to not dwell too much on it.

Yes. It's easier, with people you know-- and I'm meeting more people all the time. Hopefully it will end up being a perpetual machine of things to do, so I'm never bored enough to be properly homesick!

That's the spirit! [ She smiles wide. ] Hopefully it won't be too boring for too long. [ Though the kind of excitement that really stirs up the dome is the sort she can do without. ]

For tonight, though, is there anything I do do to help, or do you just sort of... want to do your own thing? [ Jeanne is comfortable with whatever. ]

I'm not sure! I don't have an idea of what I'm going to wear tomorrow, yet, so I thought I would just come and relax, really.

Oh! Well in that case, don't let me stop you. [ Grinning, she claps her hands together. ] Unless you need help finding something. Like the bath oils, or spare towels, and such. They should be more obvious than before...

Well... [ Smiling a little bashfully, she steps over to the table and picks up one of the sandwich pieces. ] At the risk of bringing up homesick thoughts -- what kind of hobbies do you enjoy?

I love cooking! [though that much might have been obvious.] I'm also fond of technology and learning about it. I helped design various additions to our Knightmare Frames, back home.

Cooking is a good one! There are lots of others here who enjoy it. I can think of at least three -- and one of them has a class at the Academy for it. [ She takes a large bite of the sandwich, and gets about halfway through it when she can't talk further. ] Knightmare Frames? Mm, is that what... you--

[ Jeanne fans her face, looking around. ] Um.. did you... bring something to drink?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]badcookpilot
2011-02-03 05:11 am UTC (link)
Ah-- no, I'm afraid I completely forgot to bring anything to drink! [she appears completely oblivious to the fact that it may be her food that caused this. isn't it delicious??] I didn't know an easy way to transport many drinks. Is there any place to get something nearby?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[ Way too much talking. Jeanne has an urgent need, lady! ] I-- don't know! But I could really really use something to wash this down with. [ Looking around she decides the sink is going to have to do. ]

Excuse me-- [ Said as she turns and takes long strides right up to one, turning the cold stream on, ducking her head down and using one hand to direct the flow to her mouth.

She'll realize the futility in a minute. ]

[it's not spicy to her, so she's not sure what all the fuss is about. She's just going to watch, slightly baffled, then tilt her head slightly.]

If it was too spicy for you, wouldn't milk be a better option?

[ She pauses in her drinking. ] I-it's not just that, it's... [ God, she can't even describe that aftertaste. It might be what swishing turpentine feels like. Her tongue is practically numb. ] I'll... be okay. [ Jeanne gives her a weak smile. ] I'm sure the bread was very delicious!

[ She shakes her head. ] It's okay. [ Nervous chuckle. ] I don't really handle spicy things all that well, so it's my own fault. [ She clears her throat. Wow, that stuff was wicked... ]
