[Winry has work to do. Research to do. Little experiments to run. Computer science to learn. Bit by bit, she'd learn more of the mechanics of these futuristic electronics until it all makes perfect sense, like the screws, bearings, and wiring she's used too. She's got a start, but it still feels like she's not quite getting the entire picture and it's just around the corner.
Rather than use the education center's facilities, she decided to walk to the computer lab this morning, what with there being some kind of explosion last night. It didn't wake her, but Acumen mentioned it earlier, so it's really best to just avoid it for now, since she has no classes to worry about there anyway today.
She takes off her communicator, looking down at it as she walks. How wonderful it'd be to know the exact workings of this sort of thing.
Something happens though, as she looks down at it in her hand. A glimmer of light shines off it in some unexpected way.
At that moment, she collapses, but she doesn't notice it or feel it at all. Her consciousness has gone elsewhere.]
[It's a pure white world, but at the same time other colours. Black, red, blue, green. Focusing on how it seemed white just a moment ago seems to make it turn solidly white, though it quickly returns to its lack of any solid colour the moment she stops focusing on that.
Meanwhile, numbers, letters, characters she couldn't even recognize all go past, in sharp contrast of colour to the empty landscape. But while they're there, they're also not there - some pass right through her hand as she goes to "touch" it. She has a hard time bringing any meaning to them, though occasionally words will jump out at her, but they're meaningless with no context.
Winry tries walking for a bit, and manages to feel like she's moving somewhere, despite the lack of any ground beneath her or landscape to keep track of. But it's not like flying or falling. She's simply there.]
[Finally, she tries speaking, something she would have done earlier if she hadn't been so shocked by this appearance. However, her voice doesn't come out as sound, like it should. Instead, it forms faint letters spelling out what she tried to say in front of her.]
Where am I?
...Did that just happen?
What is this place?
[The text copies itself and flies off all over the place to destinations unknown, but some of the characters have faded away, she notices.
This is so weird...It's like some kind of dream...
She tries again, speaking louder.]
Hello? Is anyone here?
Mr. Hughes? Lacus? Al?
Ed?
[The words appear, then fly off once again, some fading away more than others. But notably the "Ed" retains its full shape.
What is going on here?]
[Meanwhile, far away and yet not, her body lays on the ground, breathing but unconscious in the road.]
