[Voice|Action|Open] Backdated to early morning
[It's early, but that is just as it should be. It is not as if he slept during the night. He no longer has need for it.]
[Voice]
There will be an exam today for those attending the physical defense course. Bring a blunt weapon of your choice from the recreational center or one will be selected for you. [he pauses for a moment, thoughtful] Perhaps it should have been mentioned before today, but if you are not prepared as you are now, you would not have been any more prepared with advanced warning.
This is a prompt opportunity to observe for those who are interested in taking the course.
[Action]
[The exam is a simple enough to understand, in Itachi's opinion. Students will be paired with a volunteer demonstrator or another student. One will be take the blunt weapon they've chosen and be assigned to "attack" their opponent, aiming for five specific points: head, thigh, abdomen, back of the shoulders, and lower arms.
The Defender must disarm and incapacitate the Attacker BEFORE being struck in THREE of these places. Should this happen they will be considered "dead." They cannot cause serious injury to the Attacker and only have twenty minutes to disarm them and get 100 feet away from them to a marked circle on the other side of the field. Then they have an hour to rest and switch roles for the second part of the exam.
Any Attacker seen going easier than necessary to prevent real injury to their opponent will receive an automatic fail of the exam.
He will answer any questions asked in the first fifteen minutes before the exam begins and only discuss flaws in the students' techniques once everyone has completed it.]
{OOC: Please remember to label your threads Before, During, or After and make it clear if you character is just observing the class. You decide whether your character has passed the exam or not and which role they take as the attacker or defender. Mingling with other students is highly encouraged. Volunteer demonstrators are more than welcome.}
