Alternative You Event Info
On Day 387 (August 1-7) things have changed for you. You just don't know they changed. You woke up as an AU version of yourself, but as far as you know this is the way it's always been.

ALTERNATE REALITY FLAVORS:

• Genre — High school? Musical? Post-apocalyptic? Western? Rule 34? Space? Vampire?

• Shifts in your history — You chose to follow your dream of being a singer instead of going into terrorism years ago? You were never cursed by a witch? Your parents were never killed so you didn't become Batman?

• Shifts in your world's history — Space travel was never achieved? A war had a different victor? Pollution rates tripled?

• Random — You are now someone's long lost lover or a different species or gender or anything. You've seen how it goes in movie reboots.

These are just examples. The possibilities are endless!

PHYSICAL CHANGES: Your character can have all the appropriate physical transformations you need—eyebrow ring, purple hair, scars, wheelchair, species change, powers, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES: Of course, you don't have the trappings of your AU-supported world around you. But maybe your apartment and wardrobe better reflects the current you. Or maybe it doesn't. Sometimes the wardens fully support their work and sometimes they get a little lazy, so the details are up to you.

PRISON-RELATED MENTAL CHANGES: You can transform your character's perception of their relationships and role in the prison accordingly, leave it how it is, or you can imagine that they only recently arrived. Do what works best for you and your AU!

AWARENESS: Just because you don't know anything has changed for you doesn't mean other people won't notice you're different even if they've been affected too. You can also think some people have changed and others are the same. Whatever works!

SHARING IS CARING: People can also share AUs even cross-canonly.

NEW JOURNALS: If you want a new journal for new icons you're welcome to it. You just have to make posts/top-levels/first comments with your regular journal so we (the mods and those you're playing with) can be sure it's you!

EDIT: FAQ

• IC Rules — The wardens will give people a pass on the IC Rules this time because they aren't themselves. The wardens also aren't announcing this free-for-all or anything, but if a crime of passion (any sort) occurs they won't bring you up on charges. Of course, being back in our regular facility means death will be handled as it usually is and not on a permanent basis like it was in the Pleasure Prison.

• Memories after the event — You will remember what happened while affected and a little about the circumstances of how you got to be that way if you'd like. You won't remember an entire lifetime's worth of memories though. It will feel more dreamlike.

Short Version: She's in the scientific/tech community and publicly promotes a positive image for mutants. She's not a fighter and she's had a much happier, easier life.

Long Version: She is canon AU usually and in that AU Legion went back in time to kill Magneto in hopes of giving Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence between mutants and humans a better chance. Except Xavier managed to save Magneto and died instead. Setting off the darkest timeline. So, in this version Legion gets his wish and it's going to play out more or less like he hoped (which may not be the most likely of outcomes, but it's what we're rolling with this time around!) Apocalypse doesn't rise to power because Xavier still hits the ground running with public outreach and there is a greater amount of good will and cooperation. What does this mean for Kitty?

Well, she's still a mutant, but her parents are alive.
Her dancing career was put on the back burner when her powers emerged. She did attend Xavier's Institute for Higher Learning, but she never became an X-Man in the same way. There was much less need for a militaristic approach. Some mutants fight in various Avengers divisions (because the Avengers got to survive this time!) But the institute really just was a place to help learn control of your powers in a safe environment. She didn't spend a ton of time there because she's a quick study and she went on to a college while she was still very young.

She's a recognized, outspoken member of and for the mutant community. She gets quoted for articles and appears as a talking head when something happens. She's a minor activist celebrity but she's also respected in the scientific community. She works regularly with Tony Stark and Reed Richards developing new and improved technology. Some is geared toward protection/defense (weapons) since there are still threats, but largely she works on improving lives. Her specific goal is to help people with uncontrollable, dangerous powers that threaten their own bodies and lives. She also guest lectures at the Institute.

She has good control over her powers, but she was never trained as a fighter. She still has a hero's heart and made headlines once saving a family from a house fire, but she uses her mind to help on a large scale more than her body.

She's friendly, sassy, outgoing, curious, and confident. She can get heated and lose her cool over bigots or anyone not respecting her because of her age or gender. Prepare for a lecture or a burn in those cases! She's currently single, but she's had a string of boyfriends—nothing too serious. Definitely never been married.

In Marina: I am open to plotting if you want existing relationships in the dome with her! Otherwise, I'll just make her think she arrived only recently and we can work on those relationships together. (Not so recently you need to explain how the prison works, but enough that you're meeting for the first time.)

Details are subject to change. Also, I have ideas kicking around for Euphie, but nothing this solid yet, so I'll post her separately when I do!

Martha Jones is going to wake up as a soulless and hungry vampire. She's always been this way, so she promises it's nothing personal if she decides to eat you... No chomping will happen without permission though. So please let me know if you would like that to be an option.

Mal and Sarah are going to be just reacting to stuff. Vampire Martha is going to be too much work to handle any more.

Duo is going to be my Hogwarts AU from Sorting Hat, because why not? He's a Gryffindor Beater, but a trouble maker with a lot of detentions under his belt. His parents, like Harry's, were killed in the first coming of Voldemort, though much less personally targeted. They were just casualties of the fighting. He was raised by a family friend, who was a priest, and then went to Hogwart's at 11 when he got his letter. The priest knew about the wizarding world. Also, this means he won't remember Marina at all.

Tieria is earlier in canon. Instead of being from near the end of the movie, he's now shortly before the final battle in season 2. His difference is that he decided to take Regene's and Ribbons' offer and join the A-LAWS. The catch is that he's doing it partially under cover. His motives were two-fold. He wants to get Veda back, but he doesn't want to abandon Celestial Being, so he's pulling a double agent act. He's figured out Wang Liu Mei's situation, and has recruited Regene to his side. The three of them have been feeding information on the A-LAWS and Innovades back to Celestial Being. He and Regene have also been working on a way to keep Ribbons out of their heads and close off a portion to Veda for themselves to continue their double agent work while trying to hide it from Ribbons. Their efforts have started to confuse the supercomputer, and things are coming to a head as Veda has been slowly cutting off more and more of Ribbons' access in favor of the other two. This also means he won't remember Marina, so this should be interesting.

Piper is from a canon-AU where Paige never came into their lives. Cole went back in time, and made it so that Paige had been unable to save herself from her adopted parents' car wreck and died with them. Piper has taken up the mantle of revenge against Shax for Prue's death, has not married Leo, and has no kids. She's much darker and angrier in this version, making her quicker to use her powers against others. She also wears a lot more black leather. Expect a wardrobe change. She will also not remember Marina.

Kitty is now movie-verse Kitty from the X-Men movies (pre Days of Future Past). She's very intelligent, has a massive crush on Ice Man (but not really seeing him, yet, because Rogue), and isn't quite as super bubbly as Evo!Kitty. She's also just made the decision to keep her powers despite Rogue considering giving her own up by using the serum. As with my others, she won't remember Marina.

I'm going to have four new arrivals! LOL

Zero will be as if his family was never attacked by Shizuka, therefore him never having been turned into a vampire. So, a hunter through and through, while still very much a prodigy. Which means he won't know much about Yuuki, however definitely be familiar with the Kuran name, seeing how they're the purebloods who lead the vampire world. All that aside-! Zero will be more like he was when he was younger, so. Still ultimately very kind, while also more openly friendly. Rather than more subdued, and still with traces of being angsty and serious.

Jae-Ha is going to be a vampire (from the Vampire Knight world, of course), because I've always wanted this AU! He will be one of the noble class vampires, but rebellious rather than proper and, well, noble-like. Back "home" he'll have been known as a troublemaker, always toeing the line just so far that he's never actually been detained or listed for being executed. — Also, aside from the usual inhuman strength/speed/reflexes, heightened senses, etc etc, his special ability is air manipulation.

. . .Otherwise, his personality will be very much the same. Playful, teasing, ~~perverted~~, ridiculous, seductive, confident, etc. It'll be great.

Kazuki will be of the clichéd coffee shop AU! Because he deserves something without angst and death. At home he will have been an awesome barista (while of course also a skilled cook!), as well as a university student, who's also a talented athlete and fighter.

All three will be as though they've been in Marina all along. I also plan to toss up a bit of info about each character's AU in their journal for quick reference and all.

Miranda Lotto

I think I finally settled on two different ideas for where I could go with Miranda and hopefully I can decide between the two of them soon.

Dark!Miranda: She isn't going to necessarily be evil, but Miranda is from a world where the Order is actually the ones out to ruin the world, but lying to people and the Noah are the ones trying to save it! She's be a bit more hardened, indoctrinated into the Order's ideology, but eager to please and not as willing to directly harm people. Because the Order is only trying to "save" mankind, but building up an army and seeking out Innocence and Accomodators to use it. The Noah are the true villains stealing souls to make monsters! (Actually the souls agree to become weapons to save those they love still left behind, whereas the Order is using "Innocence" to destroy said souls that they fight and using their energy for power.)

Mutant!Miranda: She's an AU I made a long time ago where Miranda's a mutant whose abilities kicked in and accidentally locked her village into a time loop for 100+ years. The Order is a mutant-focused branch of the Church that keeps itself under wraps, and uses mutants to fight against the Noah and Akuma. It was set in 2005. Her powers were the same as her Innocence's, with an addition of her being able to borrow time from others, but that's not something she ever did intentionally. It was just how she survived in the time loop and stayed young.

I'M SO EXCITED BECAUSE AUs ARE MY FAVORITE. Not that you can tell since I'm late to the planning post, but.

Felix Gaeta will be from an alternate timeline where the cylons didn't destroy most of humanity and his life doesn't suck completely. The Galactica was decommissioned and turned into a museum as planned and Gaeta was able to follow his dream of studying genetics and probably half a dozen other unrelated things. He'll still be a polite smartass, but in a cheerful way instead of a bitter way. More uptight, too. It'll be fun!

He'll think he's been in Marina for the twenty-ish days that he's actually been around, but with appropriately altered memories. If you have any specific CR you'd like to change up, let me know! Otherwise, I'll just roll with whatever seems exciting.

Pavel Chekov may or may not participate. I'm thinking about an AU where Nero manages to destroy Earth because symmetry. He wouldn't change significantly; unlike Gaeta, Chekov's fairly durable. Not as chipper as usual and no bragging about Russia. If this sounds fun to you, tell me and we can plan!

Nathan Harris might be a normal boy. No Unidentified Television Show Disorder, no paraphilias, no suicide attempts. I haven't decided.

Kija: Because I can, Kija will be a noble class vampire from the canon verse Vampire Knight! He'll come from a fairly well to do family where he's generally well regarded, but isn't very close to his father. He's a proper vampire who believes in abiding by the rules (Not randomly attacking humans, respecting the pureblood, etc)

But I'm totally up for fun shenanigans! I'm still undecided on what his noble ability should be... I might just rip Aidou off and go with ice or water in general.

Yuuki: Yuuki's uncle never attacked her family when she was five years old! He still exists, but after being imprisoned or locked up later in her life, her parents finally allowed her to come out of hiding. She's been very sheltered, hidden from most the world and raised in secret. She's only recently been introduced to society, and it will be her first time meeting humans outside of a few hunters who attended her recent ball.

During this, she'll have just been enrolled at Kurosu Academy. She'll be curious to meet everyone and interested in all the things, while probably being fairly naive.

She'll be engaged to her brother, Kaname Kuran (it's a canon thing...) and her stipulation for being allowed to attend a vampire/human school is that he has to attend with her.

Ai: Will be unaffected by the event and will stay the same so there can be one person who has no idea what the hell is going on and deal with all of the shenanigans. Also, will probably be going around to check out all the new vampires suddenly hanging about because this is not cool at all.

Soushi: Will be AU'd into a non-horrible world. He will be a scientist working on a "mecha" project called Fafner but there will be no threats of aliens and humanity won't have been almost wiped out. Soushi may be a little more outgoing and friendly during this event but otherwise the same.

Black Dragon Wendy. Wendy was raised by the Black Dragon Acnologia instead of the Sky Dragon Grandeeney, so she's a much more destructive Dragon Slayer now, that doesn't like humans. She's going to be ruder and less friendly.

J (aka Jun) never went into terrorism, because he wasn't taken from his mother when he was little (or, he wasn't abandoned, as he thinks happened) and he grew up actually happy and not as the kind of person that enjoys the misery of others, and he doesn't have any jealousy or feelings of rejection towards his brother and mother. Basically he's much happier than he is in canon, and not just pretending to be. He also won't be talking about crime and murder and stuff all casually like he normally does. Plus, he'll be calling himself Kujou Jun and not J.

	I'm in late, but I do think I'm going to try to get a post of some sort up for AU Luke before the event ends. I want to try a Luke who still joined the rebels and all but has no Force. Dark Luke is cool, but it's done so often, I'm afraid y'all will get bored. (Reply to this)
