Alternative You Event Info
On Day 387 (August 1-7) things have changed for you. You just don't know they changed. You woke up as an AU version of yourself, but as far as you know this is the way it's always been.

ALTERNATE REALITY FLAVORS:

• Genre — High school? Musical? Post-apocalyptic? Western? Rule 34? Space? Vampire?

• Shifts in your history — You chose to follow your dream of being a singer instead of going into terrorism years ago? You were never cursed by a witch? Your parents were never killed so you didn't become Batman?

• Shifts in your world's history — Space travel was never achieved? A war had a different victor? Pollution rates tripled?

• Random — You are now someone's long lost lover or a different species or gender or anything. You've seen how it goes in movie reboots.

These are just examples. The possibilities are endless!

PHYSICAL CHANGES: Your character can have all the appropriate physical transformations you need—eyebrow ring, purple hair, scars, wheelchair, species change, powers, etc.

ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES: Of course, you don't have the trappings of your AU-supported world around you. But maybe your apartment and wardrobe better reflects the current you. Or maybe it doesn't. Sometimes the wardens fully support their work and sometimes they get a little lazy, so the details are up to you.

PRISON-RELATED MENTAL CHANGES: You can transform your character's perception of their relationships and role in the prison accordingly, leave it how it is, or you can imagine that they only recently arrived. Do what works best for you and your AU!

AWARENESS: Just because you don't know anything has changed for you doesn't mean other people won't notice you're different even if they've been affected too. You can also think some people have changed and others are the same. Whatever works!

SHARING IS CARING: People can also share AUs even cross-canonly.

NEW JOURNALS: If you want a new journal for new icons you're welcome to it. You just have to make posts/top-levels/first comments with your regular journal so we (the mods and those you're playing with) can be sure it's you!

Please note, this post is up 2 weeks early instead of 1 week early like usual. We just wanted you to have more time to plot and prepare.

EDIT: FAQ

• IC Rules — The wardens will give people a pass on the IC Rules this time because they aren't themselves. The wardens also aren't announcing this free-for-all or anything, but if a crime of passion (any sort) occurs they won't bring you up on charges. Of course, being back in our regular facility means death will be handled as it usually is and not on a permanent basis like it was in the Pleasure Prison.

• Memories after the event — You will remember what happened while affected and a little about the circumstances of how you got to be that way if you'd like. You won't remember an entire lifetime's worth of memories though. It will feel more dreamlike.

Zero will be as if his family was never attacked by Shizuka, therefore him never having been turned into a vampire. So, a hunter through and through, while still very much a prodigy. Which means he won't know much about Yuuki, however definitely be familiar with the Kuran name, seeing how they're the purebloods who lead the vampire world. All that aside-! Zero will be more like he was when he was younger, so. Still ultimately very kind, while also more openly friendly. Rather than more subdued, and still with traces of being angsty and serious.

Jae-Ha is going to be a vampire (from the Vampire Knight world, of course), because I've always wanted this AU! He will be one of the noble class vampires, but rebellious rather than proper and, well, noble-like. Back "home" he'll have been known as a troublemaker, always toeing the line just so far that he's never actually been detained or listed for being executed. — Also, aside from the usual inhuman strength/speed/reflexes, heightened senses, etc etc, his special ability is air manipulation.

. . .Otherwise, his personality will be very much the same. Playful, teasing, ~~perverted~~, ridiculous, seductive, confident, etc. It'll be great.

Kazuki will be of the clichéd coffee shop AU! Because he deserves something without angst and death. At home he will have been an awesome barista (while of course also a skilled cook!), as well as a university student, who's also a talented athlete and fighter.

All three will be as though they've been in Marina all along. I also plan to toss up a bit of info about each character's AU in their journal for quick reference and all.
