[The Sizzle 'n' Sear in Sector 2 was decorated for a Grand Reopening with strings of small white lights on the trees outside and candles with fresh flowers on every table. The new paint was done, lightening up the interior a bit more from the darker colors it had been originally. Piper hadn't been a fan. Night clubs were dark, restaurants needed to be lighter, in her mind, and the dark wood was enough contrast.

The menu was finally finished to Piper's liking, and she had done the place up extra special for the evening. Having sent out flyers a few days ago, she was a little nervous that things wouldn't work out perfectly, but she was maintaining her outward calm.]

{OOC: Mingle style post! I've made a thread if anyone wants to catch Piper specifically, but feel free to tag around and enjoy each other's company!}

[Buffy has the evening off from Merlotte's and she's curious about the Sizzle 'n' Sear revamp. It's got nothing to do with competition and more to do with curiosity. She also thinks it's a good idea when residents (she refuses to call them inmates) take over businesses. Maybe it's a facade, but it feels like they're more in control. She catches sight of Piper and moves across the room with a smile.]

It looks really good in here. I like the lights.

Thanks. I wanted to brighten the place up since the Wardens said I couldn't make one of my own.

[She chuckled a bit.]

I might ask for more freedom to change things around later, but I have to earn some 'points' first. Whatever that means.

But, it's a step closer. I've wanted my own restaurant for ages.

Rehibilitation points. Basically, you prove you're a good kid before they give you the good toys. [Buffy smiled at that.]

Definitely a good start. I'm anxious to eat and how do you feel about take out?

Pretty much. So, I'm planning on being on my best behavior for a while, then I'll ask for bigger renovations. [She grinned at the idea. She had plans.]

I used to handle the catering for a place I managed back home. I guess that could work like take out. [She laughed a little.]

What sort of renovations? [Buffy is curious. She knows very little about the restaurant business despite the fact that she's a waitress in one.]

I don't cook much. Noodle shops and street vendors get oldish fastish.

Maybe some changes in wall placement. Of course, I know I have to be careful about load bearing walls and all that. But, so far, I'm happy with it.

You don't? [Piper looked surprised.] Have you ever tried?

[Buffy shrugs a little] I sort of accidentally blew up the microwave.

You... [Piper had no idea what to say to that.]

I think that's the first I've heard of something like that. At least, doing it by accident, anyway.

[Piper laughed a little.]

I guess it's not for everyone. My sisters will help once in a while, but most of the cooking falls to me. [And potion making, though Phoebe was getting pretty good at that now. But that was something entirely different.]

We eat a lot of take out. Dawn, my sister, likes to cook but...she's not great it. Or rather she picks weird things to cook.

[Piper looked amused at that.]

Everyone has their own tastes, I guess.

But, hey, at least there are things you can do when cooking isn't an option.

[Like restaurants and take-out.]

I'll have to check on the take-out option, but the bots are pretty quick. And take-out containers are in supply in the dome. [She glanced around the room really quick.]

I'd just need to set up a spot to do it. Right now, I guess it could go through the hostess stand.

Then again, I have more ideas on some changes, so once I have enough of those rehab points, I can find a spot to stick a take-out counter or something along those lines.

[It wasn't the top of her list for the place, since she'd been looking for something a little classier than that, but she supposed she could run with it.]

I just sort of meant for something quick, you know? Hostess stand really works.

[She hadn't meant to cause problems for Piper. It was more of a suggestion based on something that she wants.]

Alright.

[Piper kind of shrugged at that. It would work. She already had waiting space near there in case the place got crowded and they needed to have people wait for a table to open, so that was good.]

That would work, too.

[And make things look a little less like a take-out place. Which satisfied the stubborn side in Piper to avoid that kind of situation. She wasn't overly worried about speed, since the bots moved pretty quick on that.]

I want to see if I can do a call ahead kind of thing. That would work with the take-out, too. Kind of like, whoever logs in as being on site for work would get calls routed through the communicators... and they could take orders... and then it would be ready when people arrived. Same if someone wanted to reserve a specific table or something.

[Ideas! This was a good thing.]

Thanks. The darker colors felt a little dingy, like they were hiding something. This feels a lot cleaner and a lot classier.

And alive. Life's definitely something this place needs as a whole. I know it's a prison, but people could stand to be a little more lively -- y'know?

True. And, hey... this is more like a Club Med than a prison, anyway.

[Not that it really covered the fact that they were still stuck away from home, but at least it was nice surroundings. They could use a little cheer and distraction.]

So, you want to try anything specific?
