Who: Clayton Danvers and YOU (Open to multiples)
What: Clay's in a really good mood
Where: In town
When: Sunday
Warnings: Clay's eaten some of Ella's brownies
Status: OPEN

There was an air of excitement around town, as Halloween drew near. Just a year ago, people had turned into their costumes. Clay didn't think the town would pull the same prank twice, at least not two years in a row, and especially when powers had gone haywire. All the same, he wasn't taking any chances. He had no interest in participating in Halloween at all, except to gush of Cadence and Rocco in whatever costumes they ended up in.

The big day wasn't until tomorrow, anyway, and it was business as usual today. He'd packed a lunch, highlighted by a generous helping of the brownies Ella had dropped off earlier. He had eaten just one with his lunch, saving the rest for a snack later in his shift. Now that he was heading out and into town, he was walking with a bit of a bounce to his step.

He decided to stop off at Hinkles and pick up a sack of burgers to take back to the house. It was there, outside the restaurant that he grabbed the nearest person and pulled them into a hug. Anyone who knew him knew how uncharacteristic it was of Clayton Danvers to hug anyone, and yet he was doing so with a broad smile. "Have a great evening!" he said to the person he'd basically just accosted.

His eyes scanned the area, looking for someone else to wrap his arms around. Clay was in the mood to hug everyone and everything in his path.

Stiles had just gotten off work at Pole Position and was planning on stopping by Hinkles to pick up dinner for everyone at home. Malia was without her werecoyote powers and there was all sorts of weird shit going on as usual so he thought it would be nice to treat everyone to dinner.

Of course as soon as he got close enough he saw Clay in front of Hinkles and he sighed. Why him? Well he refused to back down so Stiles squared his jaw and started to walk toward the door intent on going inside past Clay.

Clay wasn't about to let Stiles pass him by. Not once he realised that was the young man's intent. Given the mood he was in, Clay was willing to forgive and forget all the drama in their pasts. Stiles was actually a perfect subject for one of his hugs.

"Stiles!" Clay boomed. he waited until Stiles was within range, then stepped into his path, arms out and open to receive. And then he was pulled Stiles in, squeezing him in a warm, tight bear hug.

He even coupled it with a noogie, knuckles scratching against Stiles' head, though not hard enough to hurt. Just enough to show affection.

Stiles hadn't been able to help cringing when Clay basically yelled in his ear but then he was being...hugged?

It took a minute to process before he started trying to push himself away. "Whoa there big guy, what's with the grabby hands?"

"I'm just so happy to see you," Clay said. He released his hold, pulled back to look at Stiles. They had a rocky past, and Clay hadn't been too nice to the kid for, well, a long time. Not that Stiles didn't earn Clay's distrust, but still. He was a good friend to Kate, and Clay had just chosen to ignore that.

None of it mattered now. "Were you going to eat here or take it to go? I was going to take a sack home to the hungry mouths at the house, but I could take time and eat here with you if you wanted."

The truth was, Clay had no idea what he was being so friendly, but it felt right. He didn't want to be snide and sarcastic to Stiles anymore. He wanted to share the love with everyone, actually.

"You? Are happy to see me?" Okay was he on Candid Camera? Or Punkd or whatever the hell the Madison Valley version of that would be? Because there was some serious Twilight Zone action going on.

"Okay are you drunk? Because it sounded like you wanted to have dinner with me."

Unbeknownst to either of them, Scott was nearby, taking video of the entire encounter.

"I'm not drunk, Stiles. Werewolves don't get drunk. But we do have to eat..." he said, and gestured toward Hinkles door. "Are you going to join me or not? Because if you're not I'll just take it home and feel sad that you rejected me. Then I probably won't even eat, and that would be really sad."

He may be uncharacteristically jovial, and overly friendly at the moment, but he was still Clay.

"yeah but there's a lot of weird power swapping going on how do I know you didn't lose the whole werewolf thing and now you're drunk?" Stiles pointed at him accusingly with a bewildered chuckle.

"Yeah, Malia doesn't want me dating other were creatures so you'll have to risk the whole sadness diet thing."

"I promise I'm still a werewolf," Clay said. "And it isn't a date, Stiles. It's just dinner." Clay stuck his lower lip out in a pout. Seriously, how could Stiles refuse to join him for dinner?

"I'd offer to pay, but then it might come off like a date. But you're totally not my type. So it's not a date, okay?"

"Dude! You just pouted at me like a tenth grade girl trying to get her teacher to give her a better grade! What the hell?" Stiles as severely weirded out now. This was like....

"Hey you're not possessed are you?"

"No I'm not possessed," Clay rolled his eyes. "I'm just in a good mood." Which was true. He hadn't connected it to the brownies he'd eaten just a little while ago, yet.

Tera stared at the man giving out hugs. He just didn't look the type. She stepped out of the way. "you appear incredibly happy. Has something good happened?" She offered a half smile at him. "I do nut think I've seen anyone that happy in some time..."

"It's a beautiful day," Clay said. He glanced up at the sky, as if to make a point. "There's pumpkin spice something on every corner. Why shouldn't I be happy? Everyone should be happy, the holidays are right around the corner and the world is a beautiful place."

Anyone who knew him would know he didn't talk like that. But there it was. He was in a great mood, and his mindset was that everyone should share his positive outlook.

Tera just arched a brow. "The world is something, although it is a lovely day. But I'm not sure I'm the kind to celebrate that kind of thing." She shrugged a bit. "I suppose it does no harm though. I do hope the day continues to be lovely for you."

People were weird. She really couldn't understand them half the time. But at least this one wasn't a danger, just weird

"Awwww," Clay said. He sighed and shook his head. "I hate to see someone so down and out. Come here. At least let me give you a hug," he suggested, arms held out wide and inviting. Hugs weren't usually his thing, actually not ever. Not that she'd know that, and he didn't care. He was in a mood today, and he wanted to hug everyone.

She blinked and stepped into the hug, patting him in s there there motion. Tera was awful at hugs, stiff and unyielding. "I'm not down and out, I'm just not human. I don't get all these emotion things" she waved a hand lazily. She didn't hug but he seemed like he wasn't going to let her get away without it.

Ella had delivered a great many baskets of treats all around town over the past day and a half. She'd gone a bit overboard but it seemed like people needed comfort with all the confusion that was going on with everyone. She didn't notice anything wrong happening with her, so she thought it was only affecting those with powers.

Though she didn't usually stop by Hinkles, she was looking forward to a milkshake and she'd yet to figure out how to make them taste as good as they did from the shop. She was still a few feet away from the store when she saw Clay walking toward her. With a big smile, she waved to her friend. "Clay! How lovely to see you! How has you day been?"

[ooc: i figure he'd start walking away from Hinkles once he and Stiles finished and that's where Ella would come in! kick me if it needs changing!]

"Ella!" Clay turned his entire focus on her. He moved forward, arms out, inviting her for a hug. "I had some of your brownies today. They're amazing as always," he told her. Of course everything Ella made was always amazing. And if they didn't taste quite the same as usual, well, he hardly noticed.

He pulled her in for a warm, overly friendly hug. He let got after a moment, and stepped back. He'd always been polite to her, sure. But never so...hands on. Clay just wasn't someone who hugged people often.

[OOC: Totally works!]

She didn't need to be asked twice for a hug and stepped into his open arms, wrapping hers around him tightly. Hugs didn't come from Clay often at all as far as she was aware, so Ella was not about to turn it away when it was directed at her. "I'm so glad you enjoyed them," Ella replied, agreeing with Kate's earlier assessment that Clay gave great hugs. That was certainly a fantastic one.

"You seem to be very happy today. I'm so pleased to see it so. You should smile more often," Ella commented. He looked happy and welcoming in a way she'd never seen from him before, but it was certainly a good look on him. "Perhaps you'd like to join me cooking dinner for everyone sometime soon?" She'd heard he was a good cook from the others at the Pack House, but they'd yet had a chance to cook together.

"Sure, we can do that," Clay nodded. He was smiling, which was rare. It almost felt weird to him, actually. But he was in such a great mood that he wanted to smile and hug everyone in sight. He kind of felt like he didn't have a care in the world. For the moment, he didn't.

Ella lit up considerably when he agreed that they could cook dinner for everyone together. She'd heard nothing but good things about Clay and what few interactions she'd had with him had proven the kind words well warranted. Granted, those kind words came from Jeremy and Kate, but that didn't matter in the slightest to Ella.

"I'm looking forward to it already," she replied. "Whenever is best for you. I only bake for the tea shop a few hours a week now that I'm tending to my husband and our home." Ella was so happy with her life and each day was simply more time to make happy memories.

"I've Tuesday off next week, if that works for you," Clay said with a shrug. he wasn't picky. He didn't care if it was a week day or weekend. He enjoyed cooking for his Pack, but he was hardly a gourmet cook.

"I'll take care of the meats, you can be in charge of the vegetable and whatever else." He would probably fire up the grill. He did his best cooking outside of the confines of the kitchen.

"That works wonderfully," she replied, already looking forward to it. He seemed far more eager than she'd ever seen him before, but Ella considered it simply be a result of his good mood. She wasn't one to question things like that. She also took her assignment of vegetables and sides most seriously.

"I can think of just the thing for us to cook," she added eagerly. "I am most excited to learn the ways of your grill." It was something of a mystery to her, but Clay seemed to be a master at it, as did Colonel Sheppard. She had been meaning to ask both of them for instruction, so this worked out most fortuitously.
