Tauriel had started to calm down and adapt to the fact that none of this was a cruel dream. She and Legolas had been reunited and Thranduil was nowhere to be seen -- not that he could do anything to her in this place. He had no power here as ruler or king. However, Lord Elrond was here, and to him she would still give the respect he was due. He had never been anything but kind whenever she had come across him during her travels. She just had not yet gone to see him or the Lady Arwen as of yet. She had also seen that Fili was here and she had not approached him, either. She knew what had happened to him and Kili and she wasn't sure if he had lived through that time yet. If he had not, she did not want to dim any of his hope for the future by telling him what she knew. And if he had, well, she didn't want him thinking that she had not cared for his brother, because she had, very much. It was just not the same love she had always had for the one who had been forbidden to her. She was thinking about all of these things when she suddenly started singing. It shocked her because it had been a very long time since she had willingly sang where she might be heard. Not because she was afraid of how she sounded, she had been told she had a beautiful voice many times. No, it had been a long time since she had wanted to sing. "I have a smile stretched from ear to ear to see you walking down the road... we meet at the lights I stare for a while the world around us disappears just you and me on my island of hope a breath between us could be miles let me surround you my sea to your shore let me be the calm you seek oh and every time I'm close to you there's too much I can't say and you just walk away..." That part of the song was far too close to the truth due to all of the years she was forced to keep her feelings hidden and she could feel the tears prick her eyes even as she was forced to continue the song. "and I forgot to tell you I love you and the night's too long and cold here without you I grieve in my condition for I cannot find the words to say I need you so... oh and every time I'm close to you there's too much I can't say and you just walk away and I forgot to tell you I love you and the night's too long and cold here without you..." Tauriel blinked as the music faded away and her voice and mind were her own again. There were tears on her cheeks that she didn't feel herself shed and she wiped them away trying to figure out what had just happened here. None of this made any sense.
