Modly explanation

Lucy and I are completely aware that we've been slow, but we have reason, I swear!

We're making you guys an EPIC surprise that we have a feeling you'll love! It should take us a few more days of slowness, but it'll be worth it! <33

Hi everyone, this is Lizi, here to let you know of David's fate and introduce a new character.

Since I'm obviously introducing a new character, I'm sure you can figure out that David is being dropped. I just had a very difficult time getting into his head the way he was, and rather than having him leave the compound again, I've decided to just retcon his return. We can either assume that he was found dead, or never found at all. It depends on what you would rather do.

I'm also still willing to make him available for adoption, if anyone is interested.

With that said, though, this is my new character, Jonah Tobias Brooks, but he goes by Toby. He's 29, immune, and something that Sing Sing has been sorely lacking for quite a long time: a therapist. He wasn't licensed or anything before the infection hit, but he was doing his residency and en route to his license. Besides that, he's always been in tune with people's thoughts and feelings, so he considers himself qualified.

He's been at Sing Sing since last May, but hasn't opened up an actual office yet; but with the recent influx of bad things happening, he decided that it's time to change his tune. Sooner than later, he'll be opening an office in one of the office buildings and taking on clients.

Most of the time, he can be seen around the compound with his 12 year old daughter Elisa and his 15 year old sister Emma. He's been the sole parental figure in their lives for two years now, and the sole father figure for six, so much of his time is dedicated to them, but his start in the game will be getting him out of that shell a little bit.

Per the ability plot, his ability will be empathy. He can both sense emotions, feel them himself, and project them to others, which could make his job interesting.

If you want to learn more, his profile is here!

I'm a fan of lines! Friends, enemies, clients? Toss 'em at me!

Slowatus notice

Apparently, I've been smacked in the head by some kind of body-flu, so for at least today (and possibly the next couple of days) I'm going to be pretty slow.

I can probably easily focus on network things and whathaveyou, but anything beyond that I just feel like yuck and can't focus.

HOPEFULLY, it passes quickly, so I can get back into things tomorrow. Fingers crossed, please.

...I hate snow. We had a storm and lost power all day, so I've been without 'net and freezing my ass off.

The power seems to be back now, but I don't know if it'll last, so this is just a heads up in case I'm slow/not around.

HELLO EVERYONE. Lizi here, with heavily anticipated NPC, Dr. Vincent Marler.

He, folks, is responsible for the infection. He's the man who tested on the rat that started the infection. He's the man who spread the infection to the States and forced our kids into the destitute state they're in today.

But you wouldn't know that from looking at him.

No, no; Dr. Marler puts on the act of being a charming, clever Englishman who is friendly beyond belief. In fact, he's been roaming the compound for the last week or so, going under the pseudonym Dr. William Samson, making friends and sharing meals with the very people whose lives he's ruined so thoroughly.

He's also responsible for the abilities that so many of our characters are currently sporting. For the past few years since the infection started, he's been working in private on a drug that awakens the virus' latent capabilities, and that's what he put in the water, and exposed the kids to, to give them their abilities. This, of course, means that he's experimented quite a bit on himself. His list of abilities is quite comprehensive, at enhanced strength, speed, stamina and dexterity; regeneration; telepathy and activation and deactivation. He gives off the guise of not having any, however. In fact, his Dr. Samson persona isn't even immune.

Up until the kids figure out who he is, he'll be circulating among them, keeping up his Dr. Samson persona (and we'd prefer it if, until then, suspicion was kept at a minimum, if possible), and helping out in the infirmary and with Team Science, so if anyone would like to interact with him, let us know at his contact post or in the drop box!

PLOTTING DAY

The thousandth modpost of this month.

It's been a good long time since we've had a group thread. SO. Day after tomorrow's the day for the attack on the Bedford crew.

Group scene: y/n?

The way I see it, the group scene doesn't even necessarily have to be all people out raiding, you know? It can be for people back on the compound worrying, too. And maybe, we could even include some prompts there. What do you guys think?

If we do want to scene it, maybe now is a good time to discuss plot elements we want to go down. Thoughts?
