WHO: Bea and Brandon
WHEN: February 23, 2013; early afternoon.
WHERE: Infirmary
WHAT: Bea's just checking in on things.
RATING: Medium (Bea and her mouth)
CHALLENGE: Sloth vs. Diligence and Wrath vs. Kindness
There wasn’t a reason for Bea to be living in the infirmary. Evan, April and Silas had been out for days. But they all had people more important to them than her watching over them. No, she just made the occasional appearance to check in with Rae and Leah and to see if things had changed. You know, the things a good friend would do. And sure, it had been fucking strange the last few days without Evan around, and she didn’t like it. But there wasn’t much she could about it, short of railing at his unconscious ass to wake up, and that wouldn’t have gone over with his family. So the only choice she’d had was to swallow the discomfort and do the best she could without him. Keep moving. Maybe it was selfish of her to be grateful that it wasn’t Ty laying in one of those beds. It had been a huge relief to show up in the infirmary Wednesday and find him bustling around with the rest of the medical staff. She hadn’t been optimistic enough to expect that nobody would come back injured, and she’d been a little surprised to find out that the only casualty had been Shelley. She had been expecting at least a couple more. She had heard through the grapevine that morning that Ev and Silas had both woken up, and she’d only shown up to the infirmary to get confirmation for herself. She didn’t put a lot of trust into the rumors that floated around the compound. In truth, she hadn’t stopped moving since the group had come back from the raid; having Evan out made her uncomfortable, and the messages that kept getting spray painted wasn’t helping things. No, she wanted an answer for sure, one way or another, and Ty would be the easiest to get an answer from probably; he’d give her only the facts that he knew she wanted without all the extra information. But she couldn’t find him in her sight line when she stepped into the room. Not Zach either. She stopped short of barging into either one of their rooms; it felt too weird to intrude. Probably if they were awake they were doing the whole reuniting thing with the people that had been there the whole time waiting for some kind of a change. No way in hell did she want to walk into that. If she were in their shoes, she would want space. The least she could do was do the same for them. Which left wandering. She hated wandering. It wasn’t the most efficient way to find answers either, unless she was lucky enough to stumble onto Ty, Zach or Talia, who seemed to have the most information as far as the status of the patients was concerned. With a sigh she stepped further into the room and started to make her way around. |
