Whether she was joking or not, Brandon chuckled. "Well, the medic and I didn't always see eye-to-eye. I don't know if you know about the animosity between David's brother and me, but we never got along." That was putting it mildly, but he didn't feel the need to bring up the constant fist fights the pair had gotten into. "I'd rather explain neither, if we're being totally honest. But with my track record, that's just a fucking pipe dream," he laughed halfheartedly.
"Regan's post, I think." It hadn't been intentional; most people probably hadn't been expecting Evan to be on the network so soon after he woke up. "The guy's more addicted to work than anyone else around here, so maybe putting it on the network wasn't the best idea, but... I don't think that was what he meant by it." He just wanted to tell the people that they'd found them. He chuckled and shook his head. "No, though I don't think Leah would've kept it from him for much longer. Evan's kind of... he likes to know shit like that. You know?" he asked. "Ha. That's not so much Evan being smart as it is Leah keeping him under a fucking tight lock and key." The same way she'd probably do for him, if he was in Evan's place.
What was he going to do? Brandon shrugged. "Probably look for evidence about the spray painters. Watch the tapes and shit. Rearrange the patrols some." Since Silas was out of commission for awhile, he needed to pick up the slack. Especially since he'd more or less been responsible for putting him here.
Why was Bea insisting? It wasn't like it really mattered to her one way or another, whether he was mentally stable or whatever. Did it? "I just hate leaving her like this," he admitted, his tone almost inaudible, except for someone who was listening for it. "I know she can handle herself, but the last time she was in a situation like this, she didn't really," he explained.
Honestly, Brandon's reason for not spending time in Silas' room was less because of Alghren and more because of Brandon's guilt, but the only person who'd probably be able to pick up on that was Silas himself. And maybe Leah and Regan. He was more or less sure that the had, in fact. It was easy to blame it on Alghren, though, so Brandon just took the out.
With a huffed laugh, Brandon nodded his head. "Alright," he agreed quietly. "Thanks. We can bring back some coffee for everyone, or something." So he didn't feel like he was just fucking off to preserve his sanity or whatever. "Maybe some lunch for Leah, too. I don't think she's left his room in a little while."
