There. You have him.

I hope you're all happy, because I'm not.

I wish I were more surprised. Though it shocks me, being from the same house, it makes a great deal of sense, and he lied from the very beginning. So many lies. Perhaps it is time to retire two popular narratives - that the purebloods of pebbled pasts must have done it and that, pendulum swinging the other direction, the heroes who "receive a free pass" must have done it. And I thought they were going to arrest me because they never cleared me.

Some of this I'm still processing. I'm glad it wasn't Justin. I'm ecstatic that it wasn't. However finding out that it was Roger. Roger has been a good friend... and that Kates.....

I've known Katie Bell since she was a first year sitting down at Gryffindor for the first time. She's been one of my best friends ever since and for a time in Forth Year my girlfriend. She's stuck by me through some of my worst parts after Fred's death and I'm going to stick by her now.

I'm not sure why she's done what she did but she's one of my best friends and always will be

And I was worried I'd have to hide out for a month or more - it's good to be home. It's bloody terrible to see that it's Roger, but I'm at least glad this whole ordeal is over with. Hopefully I'll be considered to have served most of my time already and can just go on with my life.

Would any of my friends like to celebrate with an impromptu Star Trek marathon?

Thank you to everyone who helped with the investigation. I hope those who didn't or hindered it will think twice about doing that next time.

Glad that's behind us. Now to open this bottle of wine that's been waiting for me.

Will you look at that. And here I had my money on the messed up ginger twin or the mudblood. Who would have guessed it was the handsome Quidditch player?

Nobody deserves to be treated like this.

I'm choosing to reveal this once and once alone. The reason why I was put into the holding cells was because the night of the ministry? I didn't know where I was. I thought I was back at the battle of Hogwarts reliving the night my twin died.

I had used the scying stone to see my twin. To be closer to my twin because I miss him. Yes I miss him every single day. Unfortunately with the scrying stone it has limitations and I don't get to pick and choose the memories and the memory became a very real flashback and at the time I honestly didn't know if I could honestly say that I had killed anyone or not.

And yes there is also the time I attempted to commit suicide after the war however that was after I had been drinking and the day after I buried my twin.

That was why I didn't say anything on the night. Does that mean I need to be locked up in a mental hospital as well? Nobody involved in the war came out unscarred.

Justin Finch-Fletchley does not deserve to be talked about this way.

Nor does he need to spend time in the same ward as my parents Lockhart, who is permanently incapacitated.

You know, this demonising of people who have some form of mental impairment is exactly why the Janus Thickey ward exists. We can regrow bones in a matter of hours, we can practically bleed out from a wound and be saved, we can be dropped from a second storey window and all we'll do is bounce, we can transform ourselves into animals. But heaven forbid we spend any time trying to help cure the mentally ill. We can destroy memories, we can physically store them, we can stay locked in stone for half a year and not face debilitating setbacks, we can survive an encounter with a Dementor. But we can't find a way to help those whose minds are hurt.

Justin Finch-Fletchley does not deserve to be talked about this way.

The majority of the suspects left on the list are Hufflepuffs. Before those three were left, there were five. Also a majority were Hufflepuffs. Does that mean it's our turn to throw temper tantrums about discrimination based on House and not based on past actions and associations that would lead someone to be wary and wanting to make absolutely sure they were clean before declaring them not guilty? True, former Slytherins might have had their houses searched, but they at least were afforded the courtesy of a thorough investigation. By all rights, this is more a case of "process of elimination" than "thorough investigation." If a Hufflepuff is guilty, at least we get shit done than so be it. But at this point nothing's really been afforded so far as true investigations go for those Hufflepuffs; just a simple game of elimination.

Still, I don't think those two left accused are going to play the martyr cards, though I could be wrong. I don't know either well enough to know how that'll go.

Although maybe it's the Ravenclaw after all who will be stuck in a position of elimination. Maybe when this is all figured out someone can release how they actually got to the conclusions they did. Until then, well, I'd say the Hufflepuffs should throw their temper tantrums, but I doubt that'll happen. You know, outside of me and my calm temper tantrum right now. But I don't consider myself a Hufflepuff so that's why I'm throwing my calm fit.

Rita really should do more fact checking, as I have stated many times, both publically and on record I was at the Ministry that night doing the right thing and ending my affair. I did happen to see Mr. Addison and spoke to him before we parted ways. If Ms. Skeeter had any integrity herself she would retire from journalism and stop filling our papers with ridiculous and sensational speculation.

After a discussion with my editor and a few other important people, I've decided to share a bit of information I found out from someone within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. If nothing else, it might More, of course, will be available in this evening's edition, even though it won't be all that interesting as my editor saw fit to write the article, which won't have nearly as many facts as I'd have since his sources aren't nearly as reliable as mine. However, in this instance, mine could only confirm but I thought it very interesting what the results were regarding the last spell Mr. Addison would ever cast. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was a defensive spell. What type of defensive spell, exactly, it was has yet to be uncovered, but we are looking into it. Of course, if anyone in the Department itself would like to come forward with that information, and play clean-up regarding your leaks I'd be more than happy to take down your statements! Just let me know.

In the meantime, be on the look-out for the next edition of The Daily Prophet with an exclusive interview with Ballycastle's new starting Keeper!

Hello? )

Why are we as wizards so quick to assume?

We're so quick to assume that Gryffindor=Good, Slytherin=bad.
We're so quick to assume that just because something is looking the way it is that it's the case.

Sometimes what we see isn't always right.
Look at what we know of the past.
We where so quick to assume that Sirius Black was the one to betray Harry's family. (oh and for the record I've never maintained that I was talking about myself in an early post)
We are so quick to assume the actions of others make them the guilty party.

Why don't we just leave the speculation out of the whole thing and wait for a result.

Because there is a muggle saying my father told me: when you assume you make an arse out of you and me.

It's a good thing my day off today, because I was here when the DMLE showed up, with a warrant else they wouldn't have gained entry, to search my house. As I have nothing to hide, I welcomed them in. Clearly, they found nothing. I did overhear that they had a long day ahead of them with some other searches. The following surnames were mentioned - Bulstrode, Malfoy, Flint, Pucey, Zabini, Nott - so I hope your searches went as well as mine did.

Thank Salazar, I've been cleared of all charges. I imagine everyone else will be soon enough as well. Millicent, Marcus, Adrian, Blaise, and Theodore, loves, I'm looking at you.

I'm not sure why everyone is still debating this topic, honestly. Given the amount of time that has passed the culprit has probably skipped the country by now. If anything, perhaps Justin is correct and the killer was smuggled out by the Minister.

I'm absolutely thrilled Tracey has been cleared. It will be nice to open up the paper and not see the same beaten, dead thestral. I just want to get back to normal life, especially with the start of the season at the end of the month.
