If the Ministry wants to play coy, they're just going to have to realise that the people will have their information, one way or another. The Daily Prophet can exlusively report the information that the frizzy strawberry blonde, Marietta Edgecombe won't tell us. By our count, there had been FIVE names left on the list: Our own Minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt; Roger Davies and Rose Zeller, no doubt left on the list because the Ministry was also caught red-handed by their affair; Padma Patil, the one who found the body; and Justin Finch-Fletchley, who is currently leading the top of every list in the Wizarding World.
The ladies seemed to have lucked out. Through an anonymous source, we can reveal that both ladies - Patil and Zeller - do not currently have arrest warrants written for them. Rose Zeller is probably hoping this means her so-called uncle starts admitting he's related to her again, though I think the ship has sailed on that one. Padma Patil has no doubt been scarred for life due to finding the body - a terribly gruesome sight, but at least she can rest easy knowing that logic prevailed.
Two of the men will likely be breathing sighs of relief soon enough, as the fact that a warrant is written does not mean it will be issued.
Regardless of outcome, I think we can all agree that the Minister was doing something that night he wasn't supposed to - no doubt helping his wife, Hestia Jones, sneak a man Altair Addison wanted dead out of the country. Is this what we need in leadership? The Ministry should realise he can no longer effective lead and step down immediately, for the good of the country.
Likewise, Roger Davies should retire from Quidditch - what he's done could taint the sport forever. The League prides itself on being a wholesome sport for the whole family. We can let the affair slide, but whatever Roger was doing at the Ministry that night likely wasn't on the right side of legal.
We would be remiss not to mention the third suspect with a warrant written, Justin Finch-Fletchley. There is no doubt in our minds that the man needs to be locked up in a ward at Saint Mungo's. Perhaps Janus Thickey, as it's well-controlled and he'd be among other addled minds, including former Professor, Gilderoy Lockhart.
The investigation seems to be winding down, and we hope in the coming days, this nightmare can come to an end.
