So I'm out. So I caved. Do you know what it's like, to see nobody but guards and maybe your family, day in and day out? I thought it was worth it, thought I was bringing attention... but here I am, looking through this bloody journal at everything since I went in, and barely anybody even talked about it, or me, so what the bloody hell was my sacrifice for? Are we going to just be stuck and at the mercy of a DMLE that cares more about jailing someone for handing in evidence than finding a killer?

I don't think I want to live in the wizarding world anymore.

[Written later...]

Oh, and it's interesting what we can learn when locked up, with people coming in and out of cells nearby. You know the Minister? The one the DMLE wanted me to give a piece of evidence to instead of giving it to them. Well it seems his wife smuggled a man out of the country, someone by the name of Khadgar Fiorvante, and sent to Cuba - must be nice to have that sort of privilege, right? Send a man out of the country in secret? Well to make things interesting, the man the Minister's wife smuggled is apparently telling everyone who'll listen that Altair Addison was trying to kill his family.

So what sort of relationship does the Minister and his wife have with this man? Why did they smuggle him out, and if they did so because they feared Addison, why didn't they alert the DMLE? Or did they decide to take matters into their own hand - or did Fiorvante do the deed himself or pay someone to do it, and the Minister and his wife are protecting him for it?

But then maybe the Minister's seen the same DMLE that I have and doesn't trust it to bring real justice.

More and more of those inside are dropped off the suspect list, and what do we know? That only 1 Slytherin has been cleared, but all the Weasleys have? Are there even any Gryffindor suspects left? It's insane, is what it is. It's prejudiced, and any Slytherin who is facing more harassment from the Ministry should sue once the culprit is found. This is a scapegoat hunt, nothing more, nothing less.

Tonight is one of those nights where I think it would just be easier if whomever killed Altair Addison would just come to my office and confess. I don't it won't happen, but maybe if I wish hard enough for it, it'll come true.

Work is picking up now that school is back in session and I am pleased, in a way. At l;least I can make some progress on my cases and no longer have to worry about not giving my clients the attention that they deserve.

Ernie, what do you say to the Lake district next weekend? It's meant to be romanbeautiful this time off year.

Market research would apparently suggest that bright yellow is an exciting colour that generally will entice people to spend money and help liven up the atmosphere. I happen to think that if we turned the Pit bright yellow no one would visit the palce, but what do I know. I've only owned the p[lace for years, not an 'expert'

For all the wonders of the Magical world, there's still no potion or spell to chase away the bad dreams.

Someone should work on that.

It's good to have been officially cleared, but the letter I got from the DMLE today is dated several weeks ago. The owl seemed unharmed, though. I wonder what happened. Hopefully it's a simple bureaucratic mishap.

I'm glad to no longer be a person of interest, though I trust I'll continue to be an interesting person.

It's been an interesting day. However, is there a gala or something coming up? I have had a run on all things cosmetic. Hair potions are highly popular - not entirely sure as to why...but it's a bit curious.

I am in the process of making open ended plans to visit an old friend in Italy once this is all said and done. Obviously I can't go anywhere till my name is cleared, but it's nice to have something to look forward too. I haven't seen her in ages so this will be just what I need to keep from throttling the masses.

Don't maim the customers, get return business AND a trip.

What can I say - it's the small things.

Working late to get some things caught up.

Anyone up for some late night shenanigans at a The Golden Hound? Top notch dart board and billiards table.

And they make the best fish and chips.

It is a surprise to me that many continue to talk about the Addison murder. Do not misunderstand, I too continue to hope his murderer is uncovered, and I am glad we are no longer so burdened with war that we cannot afford such time and care into this unfortunate incident. But he seems to have no strong ties to those discussing the events. Is it simply that so many of us continue to be suspects without just cause or motivation, and we are eager for any evidence to exonerate ourselves? Or do others truly care what happened to a man who, on all accounts, seemed so unlikeable?

A couple of Hitwizards came in late last night (or maybe it was really early this morning), and while they were waiting, they decided that discussing the murder investigation was a perfectly good topic of conversation. Not sure how wise that is. Longbottom Neville, you'll be glad to know that they mentioned that Hannah's no longer a suspect. Apparently, neither is Penelope Clearwater, whoever the hell that is Dennis Creevey, Tracey Davies -- Davis? Regardless, congratulations on being the first and only of the Slytherin alumni to be officially cleared -- nor Megan Jones. despite her complete and total lack of alibi I'd invite you all on my No Longer A Suspect holiday, but I hate you I'm still not sure where I want to go. Other than to bed finally.

I suppose if there were anything that could impel Addison's killer to step forward, it would have already been used. It's a shame there isn't, seeing how much damage has been done in the course of this investigation.

The time has come to address some of the recent rumors flying around regarding my relationship with Altair Addison. While it is true that Altair and I did not always see eye to eye on a personal level, I held him in the highest esteem professionally. I've never allowed personal opinion to color how I run my office, and this was no different.

And as for the other, all I need to say is that I have always been and will always be faithful to my wife and our family.

Things are progressing relatively slowly on my end and I must say that it's getting rather tiresome. Though I suppose negotiations can rarely be expected to be expedited. I have taken the decision to renovate, however, and that is coming along much nicer.

Well well well now here's an interesting piece of gossip. No, I probably shouldn't -- oh why not.

I had some business to take care of at the Ministry early this morning, and while I was there -- in the elevators no less -- a stray inter office memo kept poking me. It was clearly broken, you see, and it crumpled up against the wall and landed at my feet. It wasn't classified or anything, and there was no recipient on it, but it did say something extraordinarily interesting.

Do you want to know what it said? Oh I'll tell you anyway.

Apparently, Altair Addison kept a personal diary. And in that diary he wrote all about his belief that Minister Shacklebolt hated him and that his appointment was purely political in nature. Can you even believe it?
