| 11:45 pm - Fic: The Star (PG) Title: Between the Lines Author: dexstarr Type: Fiction Length: 1,100 words Main Character: Narcissa Malfoy Rating: PG Disclaimer: HP and all assorted belong to JKR and are not mine. Warnings: None Summary: Narcissa never thought she would love anyone more than she loved herself. Card Interpretation: The Star: "Hope, guidance by one's conscience or higher self." Author Notes: Not quite what I had in mind, but I tried to do something a little different from what I usually do, and I'm not sure if I succeeded. Sorry! Thanks to M. for beta'ing. The quote is from p. 21 of the American edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

| 09:04 am - Art: King of Coins by yappatan Title: The King of Coins Artist: yappatan Type: Art Main character: Snape Rating: G Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or any of the characters. Warnings: none Summary: Snape as the potions master. Cards Drawn: King of Coins Card Interpretation: "A rather dark man, a merchant, master, professor." Artist Notes: I wanted to use more imagery from the King of Coins/Pentacles card, but when I settled on this colouring style I didn't want to get overly complicated. I just used the staff that appears in the King of Coins card. Except in this Snape is using it as a sort of stir stick/spoon.

| 03:41 pm - Fic: Page of Cups by ExcentrykeMuse Title: Head in the Clouds Author: ExcentrykeMuse Type: Fiction Length: a little over 3,000 words Main Character: Luna Lovegood Pairing: Luna/Draco (one sided Luna/Harry) Rating: G Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters are the creative work of JK Rowling. Warnings: cruelty of children; brief references to violence and injury (canon) Summary: When Luna was small, her mother had said her head was always in the clouds. Card Interpretation: PAGE OF CUPS—The beginning of a new relationship and the dawning of a new perspective on a difficult situation. Author Notes: I’ve wanted to write the character of Luna for a long time, especially Harry/Luna, but, well, Luna had ideas of her own.

Warnings: none Summary: Bill and Fleur dance at their wedding reception. Cards Drawn: Nine of Cups Card Interpretation: The Nine of Cups represents happiness, the chance to make a wish, and redemption. Reversed it shows vanity and arrogance. | 07:32 pm - ART: King of Cups by Leochi Title: King of Cups Artist: leochi Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Remus Lupin Rating: PG Disclaimer: Everything belongs to JKR Warnings: None Summary: Remus seems the perfect character to represent this card. He has such a kind soul, and even if he isn't a healer, he still managed to teach Harry to heal himself by conjuring a patronus. (JKR compares the Dementors to Manic Depression.) The cup also could be an allusion to the potion Remus has to take to prevent himself from going wild as a werewolf.. Cards Drawn: King of Cups Card Interpretation: "A gentle man. A healer. A good advisor. A good-natured, brown-haired man with light eyes." Artist Notes: Watercolours

| 11:28 pm - ART - Page of Pentacles by Venturous Title: Page of Pentacles Artist: venturous Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Severus Snape Rating: G Disclaimer: this is a transformative work of fan appreciation Warnings: none Summary: Young Severus contemplates his magic. Cards Drawn: Page of Coins Card Interpretation: "Studious scholarship. A bringer of messages, someone who is methodical, deliberate; who considers every move carefully."
Artist Notes: This is based on the card in my current favorite, the DruidCraft deck, with the exception that in that deck this card is a Princess rather than a Page. I'll let ickle Sevvie's gender ambiguity suffice. I've always loved his place by the river, where he goes to work out who he is and what is important. And of course, eventually meets Lily.

| 02:12 am - Fic ~ The Queen of Pentacles by Bonfoi [PG13] Title: The Queen’s Wolf Author: Bonfoi / bonfoi Type: Fiction Length: ~ 8,300 Main character or Pairing: Remus Lupin; Remus Lupin/Nymphadora Tonks, Remus Lupin/Severus Snape Card: Queen of Pentacles Card Interpretation: The Queen of Pentacles embodies the following: security is important; emotions are a necessity; a practical and loving parent is not just a description; a sensual and passionate lover is part of one’s being; and, the person who personifies this card is not flashy or ostentatious. Biddy interpretation Rating: PG13 Disclaimer: The world of Harry Potter, its characters and settings are the copyrighted works of J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros., her publishing companies and affiliates. No profit was made from the writing of this story nor was any malice intended in any way, shape or form to the author or the actors/actresses who so brilliantly have brought them to life. This author is not responsible for underage readers. Please observe the ratings, warnings, and age of legal consent for your country. Highlight for Warnings: * Alternate Reality; Canon Death; OoC Andromeda Tonks; Original Characters; Slash * Summary: Before Remus ever came to Hogwarts, his life was touched by gypsy magic. Author Notes: I have to thank my English teachers, my professors, and all the reading I’ve ever done. I really have to heap praise upon ravenna_c_tan for being so wonderful to host this festival once more. Many thanks for letting me play and for being so patient with me!

| 11:38 am - ART - Five of Cups by Raitala (G) Title: The Five of Cups Author: raitala Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Narcissa, Draco, Lucius Rating: G
Card Interpretation: The Five of Cups: A card of loss. Three of the cups lie fallen, their contents spilt. Two remain standing, though their presence may not be noticed by those who can not see past the loss.
Author Notes: Another beat in my on-going fascination with the Malfoys and the possibility of their redemption.
Thanks to ravenna_c_tan for single-handedly hosting this fest!

| 10:32 am - FIC - The Fool by katzpajamas Title: The Fool Author: katzpajamas / magikcatfics Type: Fiction Length: 3,528 words Main character or Pairing: James Sirius Potter and Fred Weasley the Younger – as well as cameos from Rose Weasley and Harry Potter Rating: PG-13 Disclaimer: If you recognize it, it ain’t mine. Warnings: Language Summary: The night before their last year, James S. Potter and his cousin decide to celebrate the end of summer with a night about town in the Muggle world. Card Interpretation: The Fool is the first card of the Tarot and is generally unnumbered, or numbered zero. The Fool is at the start of our journey and is the initiator. Seen by many as the innocent, he has an eagerness and freshness about him. He is young and carefree, entering the World without preconceptions…Sometimes the Fool is seen as too carefree - certainly a good dose of other people's more negative reality could damage him. However, for as long as the Fool has faith in his own purity and innocence, others will not be able to take advantage. Author Notes: This didn’t end up like I thought it would, but I’m relatively pleased with it all the same. Many thanks to my betas — author_by_night and mollywheezy!

| 10:16 am - The Queen of Wands by Pinkelephant42 (art, G) Title: Wedding Traditions Artist: Pinkelephant42 Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Molly and Ginny Rating: G Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and this is just for fun. Warnings: none Summary: Molly helps Ginny prepare for her wedding. Cards Drawn: Queen of Wands Card Interpretation: "A countrywoman of considerable energy, warmth, and passion, yet practical. Friendly, easygoing, and loving. As a parent she can be quite dominant, claiming that she wants her off spring to be self-reliant and confident, but sometimes tending to become impatient, and do things on their behalf in her own way, rather than allowing her children to make up their own minds. Artist Notes: The lions (or in this case gryffins, since it felt appropriate for Weasleys) symbolize fire and strength, and the sunflowers represent life, fertility, and satisfaction. Molly or Ginny could have been the queen and I gave sun flowers to both of them, but I put Molly on the throne. I haven't done a Molly-centric piece before. :)

| 08:44 am - The Knights of Coins by Ina MacAllan (FIC, G, Gen) Title: The Knights of Coins Author: inamac Type: Fiction Word Count: 1150 words Main Characters: Lucius Malfoy, Walberga Black Card: Knight of Coins Card Interpretation: An impassive, indifferent and stoical person, who does not always appreciate the feelings of others. Or a very traditional person who is clever in monetary affairs, patient and hardworking. The Knight of Coins has all kinds of projects going, focussed on improving his position and finances. He takes his work very seriously, and has long term plans, including what he wants to be, what he wants to do. This can cause him problems when it comes to handling the unexpected or improvising. If he didn't plan for it, he doesn't know what to do about it... Rating: G Disclaimer: Based on characters and situations created by JK Rowling. Warnings: None (just conversation and threats) Summary: It is 1979. Following the death of Cygnus Black Lucius Malfoy pays a visit to the Head of the Black family, Walberga, with a question... Notes: This turned into two Knights of Coins facing off against each other. Which is what happens when you use half a dozen Tarot packs for research. Thanks to Ravenna for inviting me to play.

| 02:40 pm - Five of Swords by Ravenna C. Tan (FIC, PG-13) Title: Five of Swords Author: ravenna_c_tan Type: Fiction Length: 3900 words Main character or Pairing: Draco Malfoy Rating: PG-13 Disclaimer: Characters belong to JK Rowling & her publishers. Warnings: Summary: A few years after the Voldemort war is over, Draco has left England and everyone he knew behind. He's living hard on the streets of New Orleans, making money reading Tarot cards to tourists. A mysterious stranger prompts him, though, to look into his own past... and future. Card Interpretation: "It is a card that warns of impending failure should one continue in their present direction." Author Notes: Thanks to nishizono for beta-reading! I had been struggling with the fic I had been writing for the fest, but then Leochi posted her art of Draco as the Five of Swords... I abandoned the old fic and I wrote this one in one day. I know it's unusual for me to write anything below NC-17, but this fic just didn't warrant smut. Draco has flashbacks to canon moments in the books, and I've used the actual dialogue from those scenes.

| 12:20 am - Four of Wands, by Creatore Magico (Hagrid, G) Title: Four of Wands Artist: [info]creatore_magico Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Rubeus Hagrid Rating: G Disclaimer: Rubeus Hagrid (c) JKR Warnings: None Summary: Scene from the philosophers stone. Cards Drawn: Four of Wands Card Interpretation: The fruits of one's labour, hard work resulting in the successful completion of a project. The Four of Wands heralds celebration, good times, a happy and harmonious home environment and good news. Artist Notes: I tried to include as much of the cards symbolism as I could such as the castle, archway, grapes, and flowers and such. What better man to go on such a positive card as Mr Hagrid?

| 12:18 am - Four of Cups Title: Four of Cups Artist:[info]moodywho Type: Art Main character or Pairing: Young Severus Rating: G Warnings: None Cards Drawn: Four of Cups Card Interpretation: The querent is being pushed into a bad situation or forced to do something that seems undesirable to him. Alternatively, a distraction with affairs already present, although not necessarily all that is pressing. He need only look in a new direction to find the gift he is ignoring. Artist Notes: Linoleum Block Print. I tried to convey some of the contradictions inherent in this card. Is the fourth cup harmful or beneficial? Poor Severus!

| 12:16 am - The Sun, by AnneScriblerian Title: The Sun Author: annescriblerian on LJ Type: Fiction Length: 4 x 100 Main Character or Pairing: Fred and George Weasley Rating: PG Summary: George can't seem to fly high enough Card Interpretation: The Sun represents the culmination of all hopes, dreams, and energy. The splendor of the sun draws us forward, and its light and energy bless all of our efforts. Culmination, joy, and brilliance. Author Notes: Sometimes I see the Weasley twins as the fireworks they so love to make: too amazing to stay with us for long. Warning: this is a sad story. Thank you to[info]ravenna_c_tan for everything. Author Note (added later): "It should be at least 1000 words" means it's a suggestion, right? I couldn't argue the muse down.
When the dream begins, it is beautiful. Their shining feathers leave trails of sparks on the air, and they both spin until the earth is a green blur beneath them.
Some part of him must know what is coming, but George still enjoys the weightless feeling and the laughter.
Afterwards, he hates himself for this.
The wings are not made of wax. They are made of fireworks and feathers and magic.( Read more... )

| 10:47 pm - Eight of Wands - Fic Title: Four Times That Harry Should Have Gotten The Hint and The One Time He Did. Author: mihnn Type: Fiction Length: 3,501 Main character or Pairing: Harry Potter/Hermione Granger Rating: PG13 Disclaimer: Harry Potter and all its characters belong to JK Rowling. Not me. Warnings: None really. Summary: Sometimes, all it takes is a moment for realisation to dawn. A moment for you to understand what you’ve known all along. Card Interpretation: Eight of Wands - This card will often represent the type of cathartic discussion which resolves misunderstanding and ends confusion. When passing through an event which is sign-posted by the 8 of Wands, there's often a feeling of quick-moving energy, and a sense that obstacles are being swept out of your path. It can also signify the quick beginning of a romance. Author Notes: Thank you so much to Mandy for giving this a quick once over. I really appreciate it. All other mistakes are mine.
