Welcome to friend_me.

What's friend_me about?
Multi-fandom and non-fandom friending. Bascially, it's a place to post friending memes of all types. Don't know all the Harry Potter fans you want to on insanejournal? Or maybe you're looking for some friends interested in knitting. Whatever it is, just post a meme entry, promote it wherever you like, and make as many friends as you want!

Who can post a friending meme entry?
Anyone can. Membership and posting access are open.

Rules:
1. Be nice. If you don't share the same interests as someone, leave them alone. Mocking of others is not allowed.
2. Check the tags (or memories) before posting a meme. If the meme you want to start already has a tag, go browse the comments on that entry and find your friends that way.
3. Memes posted after 12/5/07 need to have the word "floss" somewhere in the text of the post in order to show that you've read the rules.
4. Memes should be labeled by fandom and friending topic.

If the subject of your meme is the fandom, then the fandom is the friending topic. So, if your meme is for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, your label would be "Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friending Topic: Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
Similarly, if your meme is for a specific part of a given fandom, for example, Spike/Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer the label would be "Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Friending Topic: Spike/Buffy."
If your meme topic is a spin-off of one fandom, then label the fandom as the fandom of origin, for example, a meme for Torchwood would be labeled, "Fandom: Doctor Who, Friending Topic: Torchwood."
If your meme is for more than one fandom, label the fandom as mutlifandom; for example, if your meme is for movies of all types, the label would be "Fandom: Multifandom, Friending Topic: Movies."
If your meme is for an author/director/producer/etc., label the fandom as multifandom; for example if your meme is for Joss Whedon and his works, the label would be "Fandom: Multifandom, Friending Topic: Joss Whedon." This is because not all of Whedon's works operate within the same fandom (Firefly doesn't fit into the Buffyverse) and it is this way with most authors/directors/producers/etc.

5. Memes need to include textboxes or copyable text with the desired information for your memes. I encourage you to use the text in the box below for the info exchanges in your memes, but feel free to add what you feel necessary (favorite moment for a certian character or ship, etc.)

6. It should go without saying that non-fandom memes with illegal subjects (that is, subjects illegal in the United States) are not allowed, and any posting of them will result in the immediate deletion of the meme and banning of the poster of the meme. See this post for more details about this.

Guidelines/Etc.:
1. There are two punishments for breaking the rules: probation and banning. For full details, check out the post on that subject.
2. Before making an appeal, check the status of your probation/banning here.
3. Suggestions go here.
4. Don't worry about tagging your memes; the moderator(s) will take care of it. (Memes will be tagged by labels, which is why rule no. 4 exists.)
5. You can now browse

friend_me's memories to find memes. Memories are organized by fandom.
6. If you maintain/moderate/own an asylum relating to your meme and want to mention it in your meme, go ahead. If you get too wordy, stick the bit about your asylum behind a cut.
7. While it is preferable that memes be hosted here, they don't absolutely have to be. Just label them the way you label a meme hosted in the asylum (see rule no. 4).
8. Memes here never expire. That's why duplicate memes aren't allowed (as per rule no. 2).

As new memes are posted, the interests will be updated with the fandom (and friending topic if they're different, or just friending topic if it's non-fandom). If I fall behind with this, feel free to remind me.
