This project spans nearly a year by now, but sometime in the summer last year I got my hands on a book about Photoshop 7 (courtesy of the university library) and eventually started taking notes. Half a year later (aka earlier this year) I got the book again and this time I was determined not only to take notes, but to type them up as well.
I offered to translate it as I go (while typing it up) and I found someone who was interested (giving me a reason for my already existing wish to translate it). I ended up finding out about a file where Photoshop stores the translations, I had a trusted online dictionary available and had realised that there were plenty of screencaps of menus, palettes and other things. That certainly helped me find the translations easier (Every now and then I also found out other interesting things and added them)
To summarize what you will find: - Step by Step instructions for recording and using actions - Key combinations and useful tips on what you can do with the tools Photoshop has to offer - There are also general informations on tools, layers, the differences between similar tools and other things that might be useful
Anyway, I uploaded a version to Google Docs an published it: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dgqfgwjh_26djx8wcv4&hl=en For those who would like to add to it (or simply prefer a .doc): http://www.mediafire.com/file/5znd52zymv1/Photoshop7.doc I also saved a .pdf: http://www.mediafire.com/file/yzzdazbzlwy/Photoshop7.pdf
And as a last note to those who might want to print it: There are two tables in there that are a bit wider than the page average. I printed it myself and both were still completely on it.

I never noticed that I hadn't posted this tutorial here...
I made first at severalplums' texture challenge and this is my tutorial for it. I think I made this originally in PS CS3 (using PS7 to compare with my notes and make the pictures used in this tutorial) using primarily filters.
Warning: This tutorial is image heavy! ( click here for the tutorial )
Feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear or just because :)

Well, I once again won at severalplums @ LJ and this is my tutorial for the winning icon. It was actually due last weekend and was posted there at the time... I just didn't have enough time to post it elsewhere until today.
The icon was made in Photoshop CS3 and uses Levels, Curves and Brightness/Contrast layers.

I won Mod's Invitation severalplums@LJ and as per community rules, wrote a tutorial for my winning icon. I'm using Photoshop 7 and for this specific icon I used the adjustment layers Color Balance, Curves and Brightness/Contrast as well as the filter "Find Edges".

1) No flames! Be courteous to everybody. 2) If you think something is bad, please say so kindly and with constructive criticism. Tell the maker why you don't like something and be precise about it (e.g. too much contrast, too dark, too polarised, overladen, over sharpened...) 3) Please remember that not everybody knows the same terms as you do! It's called a language barrier and while someone may know the effect they might not be familiar with the English terms for it (especially the new makers) 4) When posting questions or tutorials, please tell us which program you used.
