Hearts, Shamrocks and Symbols (EDITED Mar 06)
If you never used some of these symbols, make a private entry in your journal and test them in the journal entry itself and in the entry comments. Make sure they work before using this staff :)

nostariel shared some helpful info in comments, so I am adding it in.
Quick hint: not everyone's default font can display all the symbols, so you might want to wrap this entry with Arial or Lucida Sans Unicode or something, just to make sure. The smiley faces didn't show up for me until I changed my default. :'(
