Weather: High of 91, low of 74. The humidity makes it feel like it’s over 100º midday. Less than 1/4 inch of rain in the evening. Sunup: 4:17 am. Sundown: 8:20pm.

News: Power is coming back steadily across New Orleans, choosing the most fortuitous day to do so, in that the heat and humidity are so intense that the citizens would have likely suffered heat stroke without their air conditioners. Though the Fourth of July is generally a day for celebration in the US, most New Orleans citizens find themselves opting to stay inside because of the intense conditions and the fact that they actually have cooling systems.

Those who are braving the heat however, are for the most part unchanged, which is doing nothing to convince the changed population to leave their houses. The streets are lined with self-proclaimed ‘normies,’ who are preparing to go to fireworks displays and other Fourth of July celebrations.

A date has been set for the trial of Jon Mortis, the supernatural serial killer. He is to stay in holding until August 3rd, when the trial will begin. He’s being tried on four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder and two counts of assault. The worst case scenario will land him with the death penalty. Known witnesses being subpoenaed to testify are Samantha Mortis, Peter Mortis, Rebecca Mortis, Sebastian Alkwin, Theodore Combs and Kegan Ryland. Court will be convening after nightfall to accommodate witnesses and their families - and the judge, who has also succumbed to vampirism.

News: There is still no power in New Orleans, though many states have gotten their power shortage issues under control. Food spoiling has been a major issue, making many people at risk for getting food poisoning.

Instead of allowing for this to happen, various groups and organizations have been going door to door in neighborhoods handing out bread, peanut butter, and baby carrots for a lunch option. Bottled water is also being offered to individuals who do not have clean water available to them and apples are also being given to households with children.

An official branch of the Alliance for Supernatural Beings has opened in New Orleans with an office in Faubourg Marigny. Military officials have been walking in and out of the office all day though they have not commented on why.
