Date: July 16, 2006
Characters: Percy, Cass
Location: The Shack
Private/Public: Private
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary: With the investigation going, Cass and Percy still have a few things to discuss.
For the second day now, Cass was able to sit up against a huge pile of pillows. Even if he couldn't sit up on his own, or move many more things than his head or his hands without hurting, it was better than before, and once they'd help him up, it didn't hurt more than lying down and he took that for a good sign.
What he wasn't so sure was a good sign, was the fact that the healers still couldn't figure out why he wasn't healing faster. He shouldn't be in this much pain after three weeks, and yet he was, which had them wondering if there was something else wrong with him, though they couldn't figure out what it could possibly be. Cass had, however, decided to ignore these things, as he had enough trouble to focus on anyway, and as long as he was getting better (however slowly) the healers could be as confused as they wanted to be.
He'd managed to persuade a young medi-witch to make one of Percy's books float in front of him today, and it obediently turned the page on his command, though the act of reading didn't stop him from drumming his fingers against the covers in a nervous pattern of restlessness. It was so unconscious a movement that he didn't even notice it himself, just as he didn't notice his toes twitching under the covers. But then he'd never had been able to sit still, and that he was forced to now didn't keep him from wanting to move. Especially away from here, and back home with Percy.
