Her mum wasn't one to just hand things over without clause or condition, but it seemed like the Captainship was relatively string free so far. Catriona was tired and hadn't wanted to go to the match herself, but she insisted Meaghan go as the Pride representative at the DMGAS to-do. She was all too happy to oblige her. For one thing, Meaghan wanted to see the game and cheer Gryffindor on. For another, she was delighted to see Gwen and her other Quidditch captain friends. She'd finally be a leader among them, the equal to the rest. There was a moment of pride that swelled in her chest as she dressed. There was another flutter there, and she felt kind of stupid for it. She thought about talking to Charlie Weasley, and his invitation to come say hello. It was dumb to feel a little happy and simultaneously nervous about it. He was a mate from the team from long ago. She hadn't even seen him in years, and he was quite young last she saw him. Still, it would be nice to catch up with a friend. Maybe she could even manage a nice normal human conversation. Anything was possible.
Still, she put on a spot of make-up, just a touch of shadow and mascara and a bit of gloss. No sense in NOT looking nice, even if it was just seeing a lot of mates, right? She threw on her coat and grabbed her Gryffindor scarf-no sense in leaving her House pride at home even if she was meant to be in a neutral position. She was sure to wear blue AND red to make up for it. She apparated to outside Hogwarts, following the throngs inside to the game. It was odd, seeing so many students come up and ask for autographs. She still wasn't used to being famous, though she had been well known for quite a while. She smiled as a 3rd year Gryffindor told her she was her hero. It had been quite a long time since she had felt so good. She was floating on cloud nine by the time she made her way from the coach and captain reception to the stands, scanning the crowd for the spot of red that would prove to be Charlie Weasley. She wondered if he'd recognize her, and put her hand to her face to try and make him out.
