Charlie felt his eyebrows raise when Meaghan mentioned Fortescue's, which he had always considered to be the sort of place people went on dates. But Meaghan wouldn't be asking him on a date. They were just old teammates, right? Catching up. She was pretty, and Merlin knew she had sure come into herself over the years. Stunning, even, was the more appropriate word these days. But Charlie was no good at girls and he knew he had no chance with her.
Even if her smile made his heart ache.
"Sure, Monday is fine," he grinned and gave her a wink. He wanted to hug her, but didn't want her to think he was being creepy. Would that be creepy? They were just former teammates after all.
"I don't mean to be trying to shove you off, you know," he promised. "It's just, well, this is the first I've seen Ron or Ginny in over a year. I feel like I should be there for them."
