Allison likewise was caught up in the memory of her time here at Everett. It was true, she was used to moving around. She never stayed in one place for very long and it had taught her not to make connections. That had all gone out the window from the moment Lydia and Jackson had walked up to her in the halls of Beacon Hills High and Lydia had declared Allison her new best friend.
She and Stiles were the first people to come to the prison and had ended up knowing almost every one that came through the doors. She remembered all of the things she had done here, the good and the bad. She remembered getting shot twice. She remembered all the friends she had made. Lydia had been special because Allison literally never made female friends ever. But Dawn and Viktoria had changed that. She remembered time spent on sentry with Dimitri and Nate. She remembered watching Nate crumble into ash on the front lawn. So much loved and lost in this God forsaken town. The Nemeton was here which meant more supernatural creatures would come but she knew that the warriors left in town would take care of the dangerous ones. In fact, Allison almost felt bad for the dangerous ones because that was how screwed they were.
"Let's get out of here."
She climbed up into the passenger seat again, happy to let Scott take the first round of driving. "Where should we go first?" Allison asked as she pulled out the map. Scott had already stared the truck was driving away down the twisting forest road. "What do you think about Denver?" she asked him. "I haven't been there in a really long time. We could go up into the mountains."
She smiled as Scott said that sure it sounded great. Despite their dark task they were treating this a little like a vacation before settling up in Canada with their friends and family. With their pack. Maybe a honeymoon if he was convincing enough and Scott could be convincing when he wanted to be.
There's no such thing as fate.
There's no such thing as werewolves.
There was such a thing as fate and they were living it out right now. The two of them were finally escaping all of the madness to go on their own journey for just a little while. They would return to their friends and family battle worn but refreshed. This was fate.
Allison smiled as she watched the You Are Now Leaving Everett sign pass them by. The truck might have left Everett but fate would wind them back around to Everett again one day. Their blood flowed under the earth, connecting them to The Nemeton in a way that couldn't be escaped. This too was fate.
She twisted around in her seat and watched the sign disappear into the darkness. After a minute she turned back around and faced forward, her eyes met Scott's briefly and they both smiled. Denver awaited.
