It wasn't uncommon for Bruce to put on a show.. or lack there of. Like he had told Cap, he was always angry. To add to that, these days, he was always stressed. He somehow managed not to give Loki the most untrusting look imaginable when he rose from his seat and drew closer. His mouth was drawn in a hard line as Loki approached, but other than that, his expression remained neutral for now.
He didn't have anything to say about his reply to the cure.. if anything, he was simply waiting for an explanation. His call for a meeting with him specifically was random, and as on guard as he was, he was genuinely curious to know why.
There was always room for surprises, and Loki did just that. By thanking him……
…What in the Hell?
The neutral expression was gone in an instant, and Bruce was left truly baffled, watching Loki as if he had absolutely no idea what just came out of the man's mouth.
He blinked a few times before every syllable clicked in his mind. "Oh.." Bruce wouldn't have been alive today if he wasn't a quick thinker, but there wasn't much else that Loki could have said that would have thrown him off as badly as he was, to the point where he was nearly at a loss for words.
"You're welcome.." He was unsure, but the least he could do was start with the first most obvious response. Both eyebrows were still drawn up in surprise.. he waited for some kind of follow up, or yet another 180, but it just didn't seem to be happening. This was quite a change of tune coming from someone who last regarded to him as a 'lost creature'. He didn't know what to do with the alleged debt, but in the event that Loki got bored enough to stir up trouble again, he'd keep those words in his back pocket for later. The guy was still batty as all get out, no doubt about it, but maybe he was more lost than he thought. If anything, Bruce could relate. Surprise #2.
Bruce didn't realize that his posture relaxed, but he allowed himself a wry smile and a nod of acceptance. "A little perspective can go a long way, huh?"
