"Just like a stakeout back home." Abbie smiled at the mention of snacks. She should have thought about raiding Ichabod's stash for a few things. "Before I became a cop I used to think stakeouts were exciting. It wasn't until I was six months on the job that I realized why so many of the more experienced cops weighed so much. Stakeouts are nothing but an excuse to snack for ten hours." She settled into the offered chair. "At least there's no paperwork for this so no reports like "10:45 - saw a zombie. Nothing happened. 11:45 - Zombie walked by." Sadly she was only exaggerating slightly. She'd hated the paperwork part of her job with a passion. So many reports that went nowhere.
"I'm doing okay. Crazy crap and all." Abbie smiled. "The crazy is almost easier to deal with nowadays than the little normal things like living with someone in close quarters or getting used to the whole buddy system. Normal is the new crazy I guess."
"But I am disappointed I missed the costume party. I hear it was exciting."
