The idea of fitting in in New York almost made him want to go and find somewhere to be emotional. He wanted to go there so bad. To live his dream and be the amazing person he knew he could be and have all his quirks accepted and even lauded. But he didn't get in after all the work he put in and the great audition performance he put on. It was a disaster. But he tried to keep fond thoughts of New York in his head...not the ones where it was a dilapidated city full of undead that could never be returned to its former glory. That by missing his window to NYADA he had effectively missed the only change he would have of ever being able to live there and soak up city life. His dreams were forced to be fueled on the scant couple of days he'd had there. Still, he managed to respond with a simple and honest "Thank you." He was a little weirded out at the idea of physical mutations but once he got past the fact that they weren't going to hurt him he was very accepting (proof with Lorne) "It's like they have built in fashion accessories" he commented in his best attempt to bring the cultural gap with a sect of mutants he didn't have as much in common with. His clothing choices did make him stand out, but they were just that...choices.
"Actually it's funny you say that. We did something like that for junior prom. Our entire Glee club sang in shifts and it was really nice." He left out the part that it was really nice until it turned out that the school had maliciously voted him as prom queen and he had to suffer the humiliation of getting up on that stage and accepting his crown after crying his eyes out. Things better left unsaid. Plus he managed to have fun that night no matter how embarrassed he was because he didn't let their discrimination run him off. He stared them all in the face with a smile and showed them how strong he really was. "We could do something like that again. It's me, Rachel, Santana, and Lorne so far but i'm sure there are more people with singing talent hiding out in this prison." he smiled again. Rogue was nice, he liked her. "I'll have to talk to Penny about it." he was avoiding asking her what her power was. It wasn't obvious to him and he knew that if it was important she'd probably say something. If he asked it would have been like someone coming up to him and asking him some unnecessary embarrassing question about his relationships. It was her business.
"What about you, do you have any hidden singing talents?"
